Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

In Canada when Medicare came in there were some Doctors who went on strike.
Didn't last long and that was decades ago.

In Canada, ALL citizens are get health care.
Sure we have areas for improvement, but none ever goes bankrupt over emergency surgery.

We get to pick our doctors.

The sky has not fallen. We spend less on health care (as a percentage of GDP) than the US, but cover all of our people, all of the time.  Not 85-90% some of the time.
http://www.fraserinstitute.org/research-news/display.aspx?id=18433

Can't wait till this is all ours...
FYI, Canada is one of the least productive industrialised countrys, already. http://business.financialpost.com/2012/06/20/sick-healthcare-system-made-canadians-lose-more-than-3-billion-in-economic-activity-in-2011-fraser-institute/

Just a question, where are you guys going to go when you can't wait any longer once we have the same garbage you do?

Quoting the Fraser institute on Canadian medicare or any Canadian politics is like quoting the KKK on issues racial inequity in the deep south! They have there own agenda.

Try looking into the Canadian Centre for policy alternatives (CCPA). http://www.policyalternatives.ca

And I do hope that the US can learn from mistakes being made in Canada, France and other countries,
The US is known for being innovative, I hope that can be taken to heart here.
You could have the best in the world in one generation if your willing to learn from other peoples mistakes. But as it stands now the US spends more than anyone else, yet leaves 30 million to die in poverty should they need assistance for problems that may not be their fault.

Don't get me wrong, I have no delusion of our medical system being perfect. It is not.
But it is on the right path to continuous improvement.

There will always be the worried well who just want what they want, and because we live in a free country, they can go to the US, Mexico or anywhere they choose to for what ever they want.

Best regards,

Glenn

And yet Canadians with money come to the US for care.  Go figure.

(I've treated them)

Yes and thousands of Americans immigrate to Canada each year for that same reason.
I personally know of two couples that would rather live in the US, but can not afford the medical treatments their kids needs. They just would not get the help they need at home.

The Canadian you treat probably have the luxury of going anywhere they wish for what ever they wish.
The Canadian medicare system does not prevent anyone from spending more on their health, should they wish to.

Don't misunderestimate me, Canada is a beautiful country with very industrious, friendly people. I love to visit there. But I wouldn't want to live there under their current government. And evidently I'm not alone.

Canadians that immigrated to the United States per year as of 2010   - 24,200
United States citizens that immigrated to Canada per year as of 2010 - 9,243

Admittedly, immigration isn't the same as hopping the border for medical treatment and then going home, but the numbers say a lot.

I am not a doctor. I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
I administer anesthesia SOLO without an MD supervising.
I have been doing this for 30+ years and I do love my work and patients.
There is not a day that goes by that I do not leave my work feeling I have helped someone .
I am paid by the hospital a fair salary.
If I were STILL billing the government and others and running my business as I did 14 years ago, I would be making 60% LESS today than OVER 14 years ago.
WOnder why so many are calling it quits?
If the hospitals had not intervened many years ago when  the cuts started, there would be no one to administer anesthesia.
The screwing of the American health care system has JUST BEGUN !!!

Good luck to us ALL !!!
