Do Your Best and Miss the Rest!

Yorkville, Illinois

I've ground the bases and have my 6 inch risers installed on my 99 Interstate. They look great...my question is, how did you run the cables and did you have to do anything to the brake and/or clutch lines?

I unhooked my throttle cables and brought them to the radiator side of the triple tree but I did pass them through the triangular metal "hoop" that the electrical and front brake hose runs through. I'm not sure if that was a good way to do it but I can undo going through the hoop if necessary.

For those of you who are still using all stock cables and hoses with these risers, I'd really appreciate advice or pics of what you tywrapped your lines to and how you ran them. Do you just let them lay in front of the right fork tube?

It also seems like on the left handlebar, my clutch hose and choke cables get a little tight while turning the handlebar to right stop position.  Did anyone have to move their switch bank/clutch resevoir forward quite a bit on the handlbars?

I know I could go out and buy longer throttle cables. If that would be the best solution, I'd appreciate the numbers for the two inch longer ones.
I know this is asking a lot, but need to get this figured out in time for IZ XII.
As always, thanks so much for the help!

I have that setup on my IS with the sidecar.  However, I also have the 8 over raked front end for the sidecar.  I had to go to about 6 over lines to reach.  I went with ss ones also.  Work great.

Just be sure to turn the handlebars lock to lock with the engine running, to make sure a bind does not cause rpm to rise.

I ran mine behind the triple trees, tied them with the plastic pull ties that are so handy.  Hoser   cooldude
