Just wanted to thank everyone for their replies earlier, I just have a few more questions.  I found a guy who is selling hardbags and a trunk that have been refurbished.  I believe they are from the interstate (I know they are honda brand).  He says they fit the 97 standard and he has brackets from them.  Before spending the money, is it true that the bags and trunk will fit a 97 standard?  They come from a 99.

He wants 750 for the bags and 750 for the trunk.  Doesn't seem unreasonable if they were just repainted and replaced with new hinges etc.  Your thoughts?

And one last thing, I was looking at the interstate and it looks like they have hard lowers just above the engine guard?  Is this something you can put on a standard or are they interstate specific.  Thanks in advance again.

prices seem fair for the trunk and bags. you will need to replace the engine guards with I/S guards to provide the mounts for the lowers. there is a good chance you may be able to buy an I/S for cheaper than the conversion costs. look into it.

If they're truely bags and trunk from an Interstate (and have all of the mounting parts and pieces), they'll work.  The bags are direct bolt on.....the trunk.....sorta.

You'll need to replace the fender rails on your standard to ones from an interstate in order to mount the Interstate trunk.  These (parts #6 & #7).....

The Interstate pods/lowers can be put on, but you'll need to do alot of part swapping to make it work.  It's very doable and plenty of folks have done it, but it's not a direct swap/bolt-on.

Thanks for the replies.  I liked the look of the interstate, just didn't want to shell out the money for it right now.  I thought the lowers would be an easy switch, but if it takes a little work then I'll just pass on them.

The IS pods are not really lowers, they are air deflectors.

Here's the how-to.  The biggest job is to install the IS air deflector shield.  I wouldn't do it.
