The Bosses

Florida's Emerald Coast

« on: July 12, 2012, 12:48:04 PM »

Well, just as I found a home online for my '84 Aspencade. It looks like I've found an online home for my newly purchased '98 Valk. Been searching for one for a while and finally found what I was looking for. Bought it 3 days ago. Problem is, I'm in Brazil working until mid-August and have to wait until then to pick her up. Oh well, at least I have you folks to bother for the next month or so. And bother I will. With lots of questions asking for advice and guidance. Great thing is, when I do pick her up...my first ride will be 800 miles from Missouri to the Florida panhandle to take her to her new home! All is good...I even got permission from the wife to buy her!  Cheesy

Anyhow, I'm glad to be here. She's a '98 tourer with 21K on the clock...

Did the PO state why (if its a tourer) the original windshield has been replaced with what looks like a National?

Beautiful bike. You'll love the switchblade. I have it on my standard and it's a great product. Makes it easier to clean the speedo and tach as well because you  can just pop off the WS and get to them.
Enjoy the Valkyrie and ride safe. cooldude

Saddlebags look like Champion... ? Can't see if there's a reflector on the rear fender...

Ditto.  Bags look to be Champion Patriot bags.  Can't see a reflector on the fender either.....but that would most likely indicate if it's a standard or a re-saddle bagged tourer.  Champions are a veeeery nice bag.

Bike looks purdy....and clean.   cooldude  You'll be back in time for Thunder Beach.

Maybe I should clarify...the PO did say the bags were aftermarket. Anyhow, "tourer" was my description. He never advertised it as such. All the photos and a video the PO sent me convinced me it was clean, virtually flawless, and well taken care of. And with only 21K I stole it for the price I paid. I'm happy and yes... Thunder Beach baby!
