I want another bike! I hate being in a cage. I have no grip in my right hand. Still swollen from the accident, healing slow, but some things I cannot deny, I belong on two wheels! IDK maybe if a good deal comes around on a 97 red and white standard. I got to get healthy enough first, so my daughters cant break my legs with baseball bats as they promised!

Find yourself an old Indian,, a real Indian.. The one thing about them I couldn't get used to was the throttle control,, I had to convert it.. At least for me,, I find I'm spending more time in the old roadster.. No helmet in that.. Top down and windshield open,, life is good.. Ooops, sorry, I talk too much sometimes..

Don`t worry about it ! You don`t need front brakes any way. I`m KIDDING>>>> You need to be in top form to be on two wheels. I had Carpal Tunnel surgey in April and still am not up to working the front brake / gas as of date. Get WELL and ride !

Bonzo, I have rode for 50+ years. I went through the same feelings you're probably having. My wreck was because of a deer that took me out back in 91. Messed me up pretty good and I decided to quit riding. However, it would bother me everytime my brothers would share stories about a ride they took. I bought a convertible to try and satisfy myself but it just isn't the same. After about seven months my precious wife said if you want a bike just go get one because I can see that's what you want. I gave her a hug and kiss and bought a nice goldwing. Kept it until 2007 and sold it and bought the Valkyrie. If it's in the blood you can't fight it!

Dude... we GET it. If we didn't GET it... there would be NO point in attempting to explain it.
Take your time... but we understand the pull to be on 2 wheels. Maybe, if you accept it, and get the kitchen pass to go back, eventually... you won't be so conflicted, and knotted up.
If you KNOW you're gonna be back on 2 wheels someday... it might make the wait easier.
Good luck man.

I'd say the answer is yes, but that's not a problem here.

I'm fixin' to put a 98 Blue and Cream Std on the classifieds. It belonged to a very close friend that passed due to cancer in April. His wife said she only wants loan value. Its a sweet bike that has been stored inside its whole life.

Yep. Batshit Crazy as a certain rock band put it. And I understand it perfectly.
I went straight from crutches to riding when I broke my leg. Then missed 3 months of work when the plate was removed 4 years later and rode to work on day one when I was finally able to go back.
For better or worse, some of us "just gotta ride".

Red and White is the coolest color, like my buddy mike or wimp.
Yes you are not nuts.
Just a biker for life.
Enjoy that factor.

If you get one right now you may be too tempted to ride it before you are ready. Let the hand heal and work it out with some exercises. Get one of those hand exercise grips to strengthen your grip. You will ride again but don't push yourself too hard or you could make cage riding permanent.
