Try that at the Honda Shop.

Had a noise and posted the trip to the stealer.

It was not a problem, just that it had Gear Drive Cams and they make more noise.

It's not a brand thing Al, it's the shop.

We have a Harley dealer here that if you ride up on a Honda, you can literally walk in the door, look at every bike in the building, check out every t-shirt, jacket and accessory on the walls and then walk back out the door without the first person ever saying "can I help you sir" much less even a hello.

I was in this shop just the other day and that was my experience.  Went in there looking for one of there Circulator Seat Pads that Hotglue had recommend.  Not the first person offered to help me, much less even speak to me.

The sad thing about this is, this isn't the first time that I've been ignored in there.  It's the exact same experience every time I've ever been in there.

I wouldn't buy a Harley from these people if they were the last dealership on the planet and the only motorcycle still being made was a Harley.   tickedoff

BF, exactly the same treatment 3 times at the same HD dealer here in Houston.  I figgered it was my JoeRocket jacket, not wearing HD stuff that did it.  Not a word from anyone.
Spent a bunch o money at the metric dealer (owned by same guy) right across the parking lot.

Guess I will try another one tomorrow.

Glad u got her looked at for nutn BigAl!

Al......I grew up hanging out in an old Harley shop back in the '60's.  This shop (Swede Henson's Harley shop).......

http://books.google.com/books?id=7vsDAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA15&lpg=PA15&dq=swede+henson's+harley&source=bl&ots=dnkqPawv5Q&sig=7nBaNOymwGwxXfKfiSxuhs9igT4&hl=en&ei=vCOcS5ngFZjyNNen9eYN&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CAgQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=swede%20henson's%20harley&f=false

It was owned by an old man and his wife.  They lived in the back of the shop.  The placed smelled of rubber tires, oil and grease and Swede's cherry blend pipe tobaco.  My first three (actually four if I count the Harley topper scooter that I also had) motorcycles came out of that shop.  My father's '58 sportster came out of that shop as well as my brother's bike.  I loved that old shop.....as well as Harleys (as I do all motorcycles).

My dad and that '58 Sportster.....

These people bought the franchise back when it first came available to them......but that was only because Swed had passed and his wife didn't want to continue the shop any longer.

I love Harley's Al, but as I said before, it's not the brand.......these people are jerks no matter what they'd sell.

Reb, that doesn't happen too often HD and Honda dealer all in one.

At least they shouldn't discriminate between the two mfgs.??

If Honda had the marketing like HD has,  they too would be selling bikes and all accessories at twice what they are worth.  I wouldn't buy a HD unless it was a very, very good deal but that is few and far between at least around my area.

We have a HD/Honda combination shop here too...Steel City Harley Davidson/Honda (HD is always first...LOL!!).  Downstairs is the HD floor and upstairs is the Honda and used bikes floor.  It is funny the difference...like 2 different worlds.  Downstairs, there are tons of bikes, nice carpeting, lots of "swag" on the walls, tons of accessories on shelves and displays, hot girls asking if they can help, etc.  A real nice and inviting atmosphere.  Upstairs is stark.  Pretty much bare walls, almost no gear and what is there is on a crappy little rack that looks like they just set it out there in no particular place, white tile floors, a crappy parts counter, and a tin desk in the corner for a salesman who is never there.  In fact, there's almost never anyone up there.  And this is in the same dealership.  Even the outside clearly favors HD with the building in HD colors and the HD signs much larger than the Honda signs.  Also, the Honda parts counter has almost nothing in stock...they order everything.  Downstairs at the HD counter, as I've found during my Batwing install, they have pretty much everything...even a couple things I really expected them to have to order.  They even had the little rubber weatherstripping that runs around the edge of the inner fairing.  They had the cigarette lighter socket and the heater element.  In fact, they had several styles of them IN STOCK!!!

Got one here in SE Michigan.  The signs are the same size and they got a great Goldwing wrench. They trat everyone the same.  I've had over $6,000 of extended warranty work done and they have great customer service.

Al, I have to agree with the statement of its the dealer/shop that you are working with, my Honda shop here had my bike for a week trying to recreate a noise I had heard that sounded real bad, and when I went and picked it up I asked what it would cost, they stated "we did not fix anything, did not break anything, so three is no charge", as it turned out it was the E-10 gas caused a valve to get a bit sticky, a bit of Lucas and it was gone. I was very pleasantly surprised. My Honda dealer is great and their prices are fair. I surely expected to have to pay for something for them having the bike for a week.
