Man, what short memories politicians and voters have.

Didn't 9/11 happen on her watch?  Wasn't there enough "intelligence" when she was running the state dept. to take a proactive stance against a terrorist attack?

Read her book. It's excellent.

BTW, I think her and Bush II were knockin' boots. Just my opinion.  Wink

I guess I'm one of those short memoried voters.  I've said many times that John McCain missed his chance by not convincing Condoleeza Rice to be his VP.

It is hard to criticize someone in her position because we don't know everything she knew.  But I did lose a bit of respect for her in a recent interview where she continued to defend the "evidence" of WMD in Iraq and wouldn't even acknowledge, even with hindsight, that the credibility of the informants was questionable at best.  She came off as a war hawk like most of those who were surrounding her in that administration.  Like I said, we don't know all she knew, but it looked bad.

When compared with the other rumored front runners, I think she would be a good choice. She is IMHO intelligent, accomplished, experienced in world affairs and the workings of the federal government. She would add a little color to what could very well be a very pale Republican ticket, belie the left's narrative that conservatives are racists and give the 96% of black voters who pulled the lever for Obama, pause for thought.

I think that sometimes there are things you know in your heart that maybe you simply CAN'T admit until they're a certain size in the rearview mirror. Sometime you can NEVER admit them as the result of a character flaw or as the result of an oath or a particular loyalty. I think with her it might even be both.

I don't like everything about Condi Rice, but she's one incredibly smart woman (I'm not sure she's smarter than Hillary but on that level) and her background and rise is impressive. I think she'd be a fool to hitch her wagon to Romney. For one thing because it will not swing votes in Romney's direction and because she could win on her own in 2016 (were she so inclined).

Well, there you go...except that I didn't really diapprove of her.  I actually have a level of respect for her, but she lost some of it.  Like Anvil, I think she's intelligent and certainly has accomplished alot.  Good for her.  I just don't agree with her on the whole Iraq war/WMD thing.  But even that, I qualified by acknowledging that I don't know everything she knows on the intelligence front.  I feel the same about Colin Powell, for whom I have alot of respect.  But watching his testimony to the UN, I got the feeling even at the time it happened that he wasn't comfortable with everything he was saying, but was needing to be a "good General" and go along with the administration.

I don't see Romney giving Condi Rice the V. P. nod because of her "freedom of choice" position on the obortion issue.

I like Rice and would be comfortable having the benefit of her judgement and experence making tough decisions in the event of a international incident or confrontation.  It may not be "p c" to discuss, but Romney could benefit from having some color diversity in the lineup.

My personal pick:  ALLEN WEST.  He reminds me of a current issue Colin Powell.  He's tough under fire, smart, and stands up for his beliefs.  He's currently being targeted by a George Soros superpac fund, so the hard core liberals must consider him a threat.

She's too smart.

It'll never happen.

She's not interested in the job, and is tired of the BS.

I'd vote for her though.  Short memory and all.
