Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.

Took a short ride with my Wife yesterday, (she was on her bike, thankfully) and we were on our way home from a short ride riding on a four lane HWY that had been repaved about two months ago. As I was crusing along in the right lane at about 55-60 MPH on a slight right hand turn my back tire hit a new formed rut (you know the ones made in new tar by big trucks pushing up the pavement) it lifted my rear tire off the ground and trew it a few feet to my left, upon landing I was in for a tank slapper ride, it did not last very long but scared the Scheit out of me that you could have used a cork screw to get the seat out of my arse.
Luckily I held on and got the Valk back under control, I did not realize how hard the tank slapper was until a few miles down the road when my right arm and shoulder was killing me. I guess I was holding on a bit tighter than I thought.  Shocked
The wife said she saw me sliding around but did not think much of it since she has been on the bike for rides like that before and I always got it under control, my only answer to that was thanks for the vote of confidence  uglystupid2
I guess it shows, expect the unexpected.
I can only ass-u-me  crazy2 that due to the heat we have had and the pavement being fairly new the trucks are pushing up the road there, I found no other spots that was happening too the rest of the road.

Glad you were able to control the "tank slapper", and you are safe. cooldude

In the "old days", I saw quite a few riders lose control after/during fork oscillations.

Yuri, I have seen warnings on the news about the continuous high heat throwing sections of pavement up (esp on freeways)...... not the same as a truck rut....... but something we all need to watch for.   Like when traveling to Inzane.

I could easily pass on such fun on my bike.
