Romney wasn't at bain, he left in Feb 1999 to save the winter Olympics. I also heard (not offishully researched) the guy who WAS at the helm of Bain at the time this steel mill shut down is now a fundraiser for Obama.  uglystupid2 Romney was on a leave of absence that became a resignation in 2001, yes he was still on the SEC paperwork AS REQUIRED BY LAW until the legalese could be worked out by the lawyers. so it's the lawyers fault (sorry Oss) these corporate deals can drag on for years.

It's misdirection from Obumer.  As long as he can keep slingin' the mud, he doesn't have to run on his record and the issues.

It's like the income tax thing.  Romney should throw right back asking why Obumer sealed all of his records and trascripts and still refuses to revel what's in them.

If they wanted his name off lickety split they could have had it off. There are ways of doing that. They didn't want it off because it served them better to have it on there. If this kind of thing drags on for years it's only because they wanted it to.

Something tells me that if it were Obama offering this weaksauce explanation you'd be all over it for the BS it is. But it's not so you ain't. Just sayin'.  Wink

The even better story is that he still won't release his tax returns beyond 2010. Got anything to poo-poo that?

Poo poo this.  It's an even better/bigger story that Obumer won't unseal his records.

Romney gave McCain 23 years of tax information, from what I've heard.  Maybe Romney is playing the Obama game of withholding until it benefits him

Ever think that what was contained within that 23 years worth of info had something to do with McCain picking a former beauty pageant contestant (and current slow adult) for his running mate instead of someone with actual qualifications?

someone with actual qualifications?

Like someone elected to the city council, elected as mayor then elected as governor?
Seems like the sort of stepping stones expected before trying D.C.

A) They had no reason to expedite "getting his name off" there is nothing illegal about it. Steve Jobs did the same thing.

2) Now can we officially call "you people" "taxers"  2funny

Funny thing is... the only people that give a rats ass about his taxes are the people that would NEVER have voted for him in the first place.  Grin

Mr. Anvil, could you please tell me five things about the current president that impresses you the most.  I am trying to understand how others feel.  Thank you in advance.   steve

I'm not Anvil but......
1  - Ends Iraq War - A war that President started (first time in history that USA was the aggressor, under false information - WMD, when he found out none was there he changed it to Hussein was a mass murder)

2 - Saved the American Auto Industry - We all could be driving foreign cars in USA if Obama did not step in.  (I drive American made cars and MOTORCYCLES)  He saved a million jobs by doing this.

3 - Took Out Bin Laden -   Some thing President Bush tried to do for 8 years but could not do.

4 - Dismantled the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy - You no long have to lie abbout your sexual preferences to serve in the military.

5 - Gives Tax Breaks for the Middle Class - What more has to be siad here......

Although I am a registered democrat, I dont just follow the democrat guidelines, I also do vote for republicans too,  and I am not a Republican basher, I just see the real things that do not just fall under one political belief,  Call me bad I guess......

Davet261... I'll be the first to say that I am not as knowledgable as I should be on these things.  However:

1.  I'm not completely convinced tha Obama has ended the Iraq war; and WMD - Didn't Bush just act on what his advisors were telling him.  Wasn't he advised that there were WMD.

2.  Saved the auto industry.... What a freeking joke.  Follow the money.

3.  Took down Bin Ladin ... It was just a matter of time.  Obama just OK'd the "Go in and get him" once they knew he was there.

4.  Dismantled the Don't ask - Don't tell in the military.  I'm not sure this was the best thing to do.

5.  Giving tax breaks for the middle class.  The way I see it is "The rich may have money.... but they earned it.  It is their money."  And besides, isn't Obama just continuing the tax breaks that Bush started.

I do apologize if I am off base on any of this.  I DO NOT apologize for the way I feel about what Obama is trying to do to this once Great Country.

1  - Ends Iraq War - And hands the country over to Iran by pulling out early.

2 - Saved the American Auto Industry - We all could be driving foreign cars in USA if Obama did not step in.  (I drive American made cars and MOTORCYCLES)  He saved a million jobs by doing this. Correction, he saved Chrysler's and GM's unions. We'd all be driving Fords.

3 - Took Out Bin Laden -   The Navy seals took out Osama

4 - Dismantled the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy - Not everyone is thrilled about this.

I can give y'all a longer list of things Obama said he was gonna do, but didn't.

I know, you're gonna say Bush left things in such a big mess, that he has spent all of his time fixing Bush's mistakes. (I'm not sure that's true, but that's what he claims).

And, his hands are tied, being he can't acomplish anything with a Republican House.

That's just the point.  He knew (to some extent) what he was up against when he took the job.  He has been totally inefective as a leader ever since.  We need to let someone else give it a try.

1 he followed the bush draw down, pretty much to the letter. shocking because he didn't continue anything else bush started.
2 he saved a million UNION jobs, he doesn't care about private sector jobs that don't contribute to the dems re-election fund.
3 ok, I'll grant you that one, but it won't get him re-elected
4 the don't ask don't tell was a clinton thingy, but what ever.
5 I'd ask you to link me the tax breaks you speak of, I didn't get any break on my taxes?

I would vote for a democrat if there was a small government democrat.

I notice you don't comment on the validity of the statements. he's releasing two years worth of tax returns, and I support that. there's no need to give the opposition 10 years worth of docs they can scrutinze for any little detail to use against him.

jobs and the economy, jobs and the economy. that's what we want to hear about, from either side. but we are only hearing it from one side.

I posted the question to get a answer, what 5 things has Obama done to impress you and would have you vote again....did not really get a answer...the part that I do realize is that each side feels as strongly as the other as to their beliefs.   Having said that....I blame the housing crunch on the Dems as they felt that everyone should own a house even if they could not afford it...everything snow balled from there...as far as to big to fail...no such thing, if poor mangement causes your business to fail, oh well...to give millions of dollars to save a business is insane.  Let them restructure and move forward.  We need to get back to the harder you work the better off you are...living on the plantation and waiting for your check will not help anyone...we have 4 gererations to prove it does not work...funny thing when you get hungry you can find a job...and 48% need to pay something.  Companies will continue to leave this country in order to make money...thats what people go into business for...ok I'm off my soapbox...let it rain

Can't vote for either one, very sorry state of affiars for me. I have voted in every national election since 1976...I will not cast a vote for Obama for all the reasons most on this forum speak about and no I cannot find five things he has done that would make me want to vote for him. I will not vote for the other idiot either. Don't care what people say about when he left Bain..he was on paper the CEO when that company dismantled the lives of many Americans and he made lots of money from Bain during the years he was "not really in charge". I will still vote in other races during the election and will vote for some very close and meaningful local positions. I think the two parties have Americans arguing while they  use that to their advantage to take care of thier jobs and interest.

so he was getting his salary while he was over in Utah. he did NOT dismantle the plant featured in the video.
Obama has spent $100,000,000 since mid May to attack Romney, it hasn't worked. then Obama goes off teleprompter and demonizes small business.

PLease reconsider not voting.

Romney isn't my ideal candidate either, but I'd crawl over 5 miles of broken glass to vote for him this election to prevent another four years of Obama and the leftists march to progressive socialism.

If you can't stand the thought of casting a vote for Obama, please realize that NOT voting for either candidate is the same as voting FOR Obama.

People die every day all over this planet fighting for the right to vote.  Please don't take that responsiblity lightly.
