Some of you who attended our July meeting will recall my asking help in figuring out what was keeping my Honda driver's seat from latching. Don't remember which one of you discovered that the front tips of my Beetle bags were stopping the seat from sliding back far enough for the pins and latch to engage.
The obvious solution was to have someone "notch" or cut off enough of the back sides of the seat to allow it to clear the bags and slide back to where it is supposed to.

I took it to my  upholsterer in Irving Wednesday. He will have it ready for me Friday. He is charging $35-$0. Good deal for me!

That was me, Dan. I also offered to take those beetle bags off your hands to save you a trip to the upholsterer.   Cheesy

No, it was so obvious, it wasn't necessary.
Ultimate Seats even mentions on there website that if you have Beetle Bags, They furnish a modified seat. Now I know why  laugh

Glad you are getting that fixed.

Wouldn't want to see that F16 Ejection Seat send you into low orbit...

Really frustrated with my OEM driver's seat not latching now.
I had the seat "notched" where it was butting against my Beetle bags which, no question, needed to be done.
It still would not latch. I noticed that back of seat was pressing against Utopia back rest mounting bracket; called Utopia and talked to guy who designed bracket and he was no help.
I took the back rest and passenger seat off and the %#@ seat still will not latch.
It has to either be the bushing installed under the front of the tank to raise it a little (installed when previous owner installed velocity stacks) or, the tank bib is preventing latching.
Putting my Corbin back on and will let you guys help me next wrench party.

I've got a Utopia back rest and a Hartco seat, and I have to punch the front of the seat, sometimes quite hard, to get it to latch.

So, at this point, with the previous history, have you tried to latch the seat with the bags removed now?

Not necessary since I had upholsterer cut down seat on each side so seat is no longer touching either bag but thanks for the advise.
Yes, I and others have really pushed down on front of seat and I have been riding on it a couple weeks and my body weight will not latch it.

Getting up and sitting down on it may bring more force than pushing with the hands.
