Our very first day on the Valk up on the BRP!

Lynchburg, Virginia

Tale of two Doctors
Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery.
The 1st patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.
The 2nd sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray. Which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then, pending the review boards decision on his age and remaining value to society.
Why the different treatment for the two patients??
The 1st is a Golden Retriever taken to a Vet.
The 2nd is a Senior Citizen on Obama care....
In November if he and his Czars get another term, we'll all have to find a good Vet!!

I went to a Chiropractor yesterday. He said I should come three times a week. I laughed. He looked at me puzzled. I said just the co-pay would be more than a truck payment. He said "you drive cheap trucks" I said "$420 a month is a decent payment in my house but I'm not a Chiropractor" I said "I may have to wait till ObamaCare kicks in". He made an angry face and said "you don't want to wait for that, it isn't going to cover anything"

My old Chiropractor in Jacksonville charged me $10 every time I came in regardless of my co-pay requirement. And he took what ever the insurance company gave him. And did my kids for free. Smart man. Made my back feel much better, and didn't break the bank. Based on the time it takes to crack my back and send me on my way even with me handing him $10 he's making $150 an hour. No fancy stuff, just an adjustment, and out the door.
This new guy has all kinds of contraptions and I end up there for 30 minutes before I ever see him, when I do see him the adjustment is only in the problem area, not my whole back, and takes him about 30 seconds. And he wants $35 from me for his 30 seconds + the amount he is going to hit tmy insurance for. I'll bet his truck IS nicer than mine!  tickedoff  2funny

Jeff, do you use a private practice chiro? I went to a place called "The chiropratic People" and felt the same way. He even tried to pre-bill my ins. co. for $600.00 in future care. I told him that it sounds fishy and I am goin to talk to my ins. co. on the legitmacy of this practice. He gave me a goofy look and went into his office. I never went back

I have Blue Cross they have a list to pick from. I need to do more research to find an independent guy that wants more business.

I don't want all that fancy do nothing crap. Crack my back and be done with it.
I told Joanne she needs to go to Chiropractor school so she can crack me for free. In the long run I'd be money ahead.

Somebody direct me to a high impact Chiropractor. These young uns in the field today don't seem to do much hands on adjusting here in the Ozarks. Does anyone actually KNOW what the little black plastic clicky thingy is supposed to do fer my back????  crazy2 RIDE SAFE.

My old doc would do that! I couldn't help but laugh!  2funny
I swear my lower back got much better from going to him, but some of this is just hokey. Like the new guy, they stick pads on my shoulders and give me shocks. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY SHOULDERS!!!
They make me lay on this water bed jet massage table. IT DOES NOTHING TO MY ACHING NECK!!!

I'm with you. Twist me into a pretzel and crack my back!  cooldude

those shocks help relax your muscles. the back muscles are the strongest muscles in the body. if the chiro is a small person he/she can crack your back better with less pain for you and them.
my chiro is a short little man. he uses the muscle stimulator (shock) on me.

he doesn't try to set up future visits. just says if it starts hurting again call me.  cooldude

been going to him for several years. oh and he's $40 per visit, no insurance.

But he isn't "stimulating" anywhere near the "treatment zone"?

if the pain is in the neck, the shoulder muscles have everything to do with the neck.

http://www.innerbody.com/image/musbov.html

if the pain is belt high or higher the shoulder muscles again have a lot to do with it.

if the pain is lower than the belt then no, the shoulders have nothing to do with it.

There was a doctor many years ago that believed that most ailments were caused by your feet.  His name was Dr. Mahlon William Locke.  He was a small country doctor that had people travel to him from around the world.  Apparently he was never able to teach anybody his techniques.  Check him out.  Wish he was around today.

Need free health care?

Go commit a white collar federal crime.  They'll check you into a "Club Fed."  You can see your chiropractor on the way back in from your morning 18 holes.   2funny

My chiropractor taught me how to adjust myself.  THAT was awesome.  He was an old guy... but did the electric stim AFTER the adjustment.

Now that I can adjust myself (My issues are in my hips) I have not seen him for 4 or 5 years.

I am in better shape now too... and that help a lot too I am convinced.

Fudd, on a side note there, Club Fed is here. They put them in vans and take them to the Mayo Clinic for the serious stuff. OK back on subject, mine puts me on a table that has rollers to loosen my back, pretzels me and cracks my lower back. Next day I feel great. Used to be $50 co-pay when he sent the bill to my ins, I retired, different Ins that does not cover now, $35 cash out the door.
