For some reason, we jumped $.25 today to $2.75/gal for regular in Indyanner.  WTF?  Last time was cuz of the dollar losing value against the Euro, inflation, yada yada yada.

I've been hearing the same ol lame excuse that it's just the seasonal change over to their "summer" blend.  I'm calling a big ol hariy BS on that one.  I think it's just greed as usual.  They got a taste of that 4 dollar a gallon stuff and they want more.    Evil

We are about to get royally screwed once more.

US demand is wayyyyyyyyyyyy down. It's obvious in the area where I live, traffic is way light compared to normal. No it's nothing to do with school being out. This is a very affluent and mobile area with a plague of soccer/ tennis Mums normally burning up the roads.

World demand is way down as well.

Yeah, i've been keeping up with it and even the media is saying there's no reason for it...

Demand is still down....refineries are only putting out at 85% b/c we have so much surplus gas.....

what the media keeps saying is that all economic indicators show that the recession is soon to be over and THAT means we'll all start driving again soon, so the demand is going to rise....like that is a reason to raise gas now????

And then the media always says this....at least it's not the $4+ that it was this time last year....screw that!!!!

Just b/c it's not as high as it was last year doesn't mean they have free rein to keep raising the price just because they got a taste of record quarterly profits and want to keep it up....you have no idea how badly I wish I could do without gas....

You won't hear anybody in Washington complaining about high gas prices and the silence is deafining. Without high prices the 40 mpg Government Motors cars won't sell. I once thought the feds would add the tax to gas directly but now I think they'll wait for big oil to make "excess profits" and then just tax them directly as it's much more in vogue tax big corporations than those at the gas pump. The environmentalists are smiling as well as demand is suppressed for fossil fuel.

The speculators in the market are at it again.  This is what the government wants, it justifies their "green" push.  The oil companies want it, great profits too.

It doesn't matter that we don't want it.

You're absolutely correct my friend. What the people want or need really doesn't matter anymore. It's all about politics and power.

Oil also passed $68 per barrel today.  For all you conspiracy theorists:  Fact is, oil is in high demand.  Economies like China and India are recovering much faster than the US.

You got to get used to it...oil is a global commodity that will soon be at $200 per barrel... not because of speculators... but because of demand.

The price of gas has jumped about $1.00 since Cheaha. I'm guessing that we will see $5.00 plus this year.

Its Bush's fault

Its Dick Cheney's fault

Its the greedy Exxon Mobile daring to make less than 6 percent profit

Haliburton (had to say it because they get blamed for everything)

Hey, wait a sec, we fixed all that last November

OH, I see. Its now supply and demand since the Dems are in charge.

i told my brother back in january that he should invest in fuel options, did he listen to me, no....  every year fuel prices go up until mid summer, level off until october, fall like crazy to make people forget about the high cost of fuel so they buy tons of christmass crap, reaches it's low around Dec. 26, then after about Jan 31, starts going up again.....  been doing this every year for the last 20 years of so that i've been keeping track.

funny thing is, we've got a 60 day reserve in production.  that meens, if all oil production stopped right now, we could go 60 days before we ran out!!  supply and demand, my ass.

All the Libs bashed Bush after he met with the Saudi King, because gas prices did not drop right away.  Anyone want to bet that that will NOT happen now?

Oh, excuse me, I guess Bush WILL be bashed now for it, after Obama meets with them.

I heard it yesterday.  It is again Bush's fault prices are going up.

Just saw this evening on the way home that gas is now $2.89 for regular. This is BS. About a month ago I read in the paper that they were not looking for gas to go above $2.50 this summer. I guess that was a big lie huh. The speculators in NY must be done screwing with the banks so now they are turning there attention back to oil.

Oh and Eagle, last year when gas was close to five buck a gallon you and your liberal friends blamed Bush. Now here we go again and I see you are not blaming Obama, no we couldn't have that. Now you are saying that the cause of the spike is because of the demand for oil.  So last year there was no demand. It was just Bush's fault because he is a "oil man". So what is Obama going to do huh. Ill tell you what he is going to do. Not a damn thing. We are going to sit back and take it up the tailpipe......
