Skyline Dr., Blue Ridge Pkwy Ride 6/19

I am thinking about taking a ride on 6/18 through 6/21 down the Skyline Dr., Blue Ridge Parkway and back up through West Virginia.  Anyone want to ride part of it with me?  Teresa can't make it this time so I will be by myself.

Here is what I came up with for the ride and Motels.

Leaving Thursday 6/18 from NE Ohio, about 11 am going down to Cumberland Md and riding 50 across from Romney WV. Staying Thur. night at Super 8 in Front Royal, $66.50 plus tax singles or doubles same price.

Friday, riding down the Skyline Dr. and then down to mile 123 of the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Staying Friday night at Quality Inn, Tanglewood (Roanoke). Rooms $70 for a King and $65 for a double.


Sat. riding down the Parkway to Fancy Gap, appx. 80 miles, then up and over a little to pick up route 219. Route 219 is a great road, up to marlinton, WV then to Elkins, WV. Stay at the Super 8 in Elkins. Rate is $66.50 plus tax for singles and doubles.

Sunday side roads up 250 to route 7 and home.

Taken that ride several times (Skyline Drive through BRP) and I wish I could join you, but will be at the Blue/Grey Ride the weekend before and can't be away two weekends in a row. Have fun and be safe!!

Familiar with the roads in West Virginia & Skyline Dr & Blue Ridge Pkwy - always a good run to the south of Ohio

Made my reservations looks like I will need to smoke one night
