She was faking.  Wanting more attention. Three doctors could find no reason for her being there.  Good appetite, good "output", etc.  No blood clot in her lungs, no glitches in EKG (telemetry), no drops in oxygen level, no problems walking, no observable shortness of breath, no observable signs of chest pain.  Had a good time at the hospital, laughing, cutting up, visitors, phone calls, etc.

Not the first time she has pulled a stunt just to get attention.  She called me at work (15 miles from her house) said she needed to go to ER, and didn't want to go by ambulance... Dropped everything raced to her house, and she was COOKING SUPPER!  Wanted me to stay for supper with her and her then hubby. <grrrr>

Thanks to those who expressed concern.

Been there.  Left restaurant for ER on Father's Day (never Mother's Day), etc.  When I was a teenager she would ask me to check on her during the night, but if I suggested calling an ambulance then she was just fine and dandy.

In their generation, so much of their lives was given up to raise their kids.  Not like today, where moms work full-time and raise kids.  Our moms only attention came from us, and when we moved on with our lives, they needed ways to get some of the care and attention back.
