Is there anyone in Bloomington, Il that may be able to help. We got here from Watertown, WI today. While filling up I noticed a weired looking area on the rear tire. Further inspection shows the tire is almost gone in a couple of places. We are on our way to Inzane and are looking for anyone that can help

Do you need a new rear tire? Are you looking for a few motorcycle shop options?

I just got a text from Barb, Don's wife- they are on their way to some place near Bloomington, IL- found a guy who's shop is open on Sunday who will put a car tire on . I don't know much about the darkside, but they are pretty sure the tire size picked out will fit and not rub on anything ( I don't think they were doing a nut cage mod) and they should make it to Inzane not too far behind schedule. IF all works out, they should have a tire on by the time and they were hoping to stop in St. Louis tonight... they'll just be 5 hours behind schedule.

Ride safe all... I sure wish I was going this year!!

I just spoke to Don. He has a new car tire installed, will be spending the night in Bloomington, IN and heading to Inzane in the morning. I just saw his post above and by the time I called him he already had everything done.

Thanks for the update, Mark.  Hopefully it won't set them back too far.
It's bad enough to have to replace a tire in a pinch, but while you're traveling makes it more stressful.

Barb just texted me the same message.  Glad they're ready to roll again.

Well, after finding out that no tire places or motorcycle shops are open on Sundays here in Bloomington, IL AND most are not open on Mondays. We decided to get a car tire from Farm & Fleet. We found a guy that has a shop 30 miles north of here and he came and trailered the bike to his shop. It took a while but we are now darksiders. I feel like darth vador. Anyway, after getting the tire put on and riding back to Bloomington to pick up our trailer we decided to stay here for the night. We will take off early in the morning and see how far we get. Thanks Mark and Loth for keeping in touch. Also Wayne for calling to check. Hopefully, we will be in inzane by evening tomorrow.

so, let me understand something.  you leave watertown wisconsin heading for eurica springs arkansaw then stop in bloomington ill when you notice there are cords showing on your back tire?  did it at all occure to you that when you left home, there most likely wasn't much tread left on your rear tire?  did you AT LEAST check your air presure on the TWO tires that hold you upright?  you do realize that there's no way you burned off all that tread in just two hundred miles, and you were on a 700 mile trek.......

last year i went to North Carolina, 1000 miles one way.  i had plenty of tread on my rear tire but wanted to play it safe so i installed brand new tires two days before i left.  i wore out the rear tire last week and i just reinstalled the original dunlops just to get my monies worth out of 'em.

my question is, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?

Sorry I did not see this in time.  I was up in northern Illinois yesterday.   I live just a couple of miles east of Bloomington and have a tire changer in my garage.   Did not get home til last night.  And just now saw this post.
