Not sure about the Clymer, but if cost is a concern, www.valkyrienorway.com has the Honda manual available in PDF format as a free download.

Click on Valkyrie Document Center.

[EDIT: Serk beat me to it.]

Clymers and Haynes have always been a poor substitute for a factory manual.... for anything.

I have both, the clymer is easier to navigate, the oem is more detailed.  Which one I use depends on what I am doing. The clymer does not include the IS.  Hoser

I have both and find both invaluable........as well as this little jewel......

http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/valkmaintenanceguide.html

The COLOR wiring diagrams/schematics in the back of the Cylmers manual are worth the price of the Clymers manual alone.  The OEM manual's diagrams/wiring schematics are in black and white and are worthless to me.....IMHO.

Which one do I probably use more?  Probably the OEM manual.....but I refer to both.

Sorry guys, I guess I am partially corrected.  All the Haynes and Clymers I used (many years ago) were pretty crappy and all were incomplete.  Never saw one for the Valkyrie.

Get it.  price is cheap, you can download the honda manual for use also.   I have all of them, Clymer, Honda and the pdf manual.  Any info you can use to know your bike better is good.  Tech Board can help a lot also, but become knowledgable about your bike and you will enjoy it more.

Sorry guys, I guess I am partially corrected.  All the Haynes and Clymers I used (many years ago) were pretty crappy and all were incomplete.  Never saw one for the Valkyrie.

I have a Clymers for the Valk and I've had no problem with it so far. And, as stated, the colored wiring schematic is great.

The downloaded version I have from this site sucks real bad on the pictures/diagrams. Maybe it didn't download properly.

I have a Haynes manual for a '99 Nissan Sentra and it is totally useless.  Maybe not totally, I might use it for kindling!!
The reason I bought this manual is I was needing to change out the front wheel bearings.
In the manual it states - for this job it takes substantial amount of  mechanical ability and special tools therefore it needs to be done by a qualified mechanic.
NO OTHER INFO!!!

How do they know what kinda mechanical ability, or tools, I possess?
I had this POS manual for about 3 months so I couldn't return it. (burned my butt even more!!)
I replaced the bearings after doing research online and using my mechanical ability and tools I possess!! Was quite involved but really not that hard.

About a month ago my cruise control quit and I searched through this POS manual again only to find the same type of statement!! (special tools, ability)
All this was the little plastic/rubber plug on the brake pedal gave away and the switch was not being engaged.
I fixed it with a speed nut and a dime!

I have both, but if I was only going to buy one then it would be the OEM Honda Service manual...

my rule of thumb.  get as many manuals for your model as you can find.  some explanations to perform tasks are written better than others.  for me there is not one perfect manual.
