I'd be the one on the Sportster with the Apple Tattoo.
That was a funny movie.
Loved it.

Ditto. And.....here we go again. You see it up in the Panhandle too BF? Don't get me wrong, I love Harley Davidson Dealers & all they do for us & our community, but....... some of the owners of the bikes they sell. Sheesh!! My God people, it's a damn machine! It doesn't know a thing about heritage, tradition or even what it is made of or where it was made. It's the owners that assign those properties to a bike & I quit believing in Santa, the Easter Bunny, & the Tooth Fairy long ago. No bike in the world is going to make me look or act like a Hells Angel. I do however, based on observation of the locals, think that there are quite a few who do! I think the maker of that video sees the same thing I see. To each their own! BTW, I have decked out my '99 Valk in a "skull theme" not to give off any "bad-a$$" look, it's just my tribute to those who do! One more BTW, your Valk conversion from R&W to black came out great BF!!!!

And yep.....see 'em up here too. You can usually tell the real Harley riders from the weekend warrior types. The w/w's are the ones with the HD belt, HD pants, HD t-shirt, HD bandanna, HD watch, HD boots, HD socks, HD jacket, HD sunglasses, and HD helmet (if they even bother with one).

I'm not sure anybody but a weekend warrior would buy the new HD sportster coming out. It only has a 2 1/2 gal tank. And I thought my fatgirl needed gas on a regular basis. That is definitely only good to go from bar to bar with a gas stop in between. Linedog

The Badass image is alive and well in NE Indiana too. Sooner or later Harley is going to have to go to liquid cooled motors but their "faithfuls' don't want that radiator sticking out, it's NOT cool. Harley knows that. The Vrod is a good example, it is a heckuva bike but it hasn't sold well based on the number around here that I see, close to zero. I think that both of the above vidoes are right on target. I also think that Harley unofficially strives for that image. It is true that it's not what you ride but that you ride. It's hard to remember that when the Harley image is so strong!

plus the engine has to be dropped to adjust the valves. $500-700 at the stealer. when they first came out I saw a few for sale with mileage which so happen was at the required valve adjustment interval.

It's hard to remember that when the Harley image is so strong! Bingo! From the mind of one of our most senior members comes the clear truth. I have never understood the mindset that purchasing a particular brand of product, any product at all, can transform you into something you are not. People do amaze me. I wish more of the HD faithful could admit the marketing DID influence them. From where I stand the product does not match the attitude. Again, to each their own.

I love Harleys. Wish I could afford one.....and fit on one......but they're simply too small for my big ass. They may make one, but I haven't found one that fits me yet. It's that I'm a bad-ass 'cause I bought a Harley attitude kind of stuff that rubs me the wrong way. Leave the brand spacific (not matter what brand it is) attitude at home....just ride.
