Most excellent speech.   cooldude

A 100 percent correct and to the point.  Regulation is choking the health of business....and especially small business to the point that some can no longer compete and are run out of business.

Unfair taxation and over regulation is dividing and choking this country to death.

However, all that said, I have mixed feelings on government regulations.  The deregulation of the banking, securities and mortgage industries that began back during the Regan years has led directly to the housing bubble and the current banking and financial mess we're in now.  As right as Regan is/was on most every issue this country has faced, IMHO, he was wrong on this one.

It began with the idea that less regulation would be a good thing.....but in this case, not so much.  When you let the fox be in charge of the hen house, ugly things begin to happen.  And it's NOT a partisan thing either.  EVERY prisident since Regan (both Democrat AND Repulican) have expanded on that deregulation and basically have allowed Wall Street to run amuck with unfettered greed with virtually no repercussions.   Angry

We now have a "Wall Street government"  that is the best government money can bribe.   Evil

Just one example of that deregulation....

There is an excellent documentary on the subject of banking deregualtion called "Inside Job".  It's well worth finding and watching.

I grew up in Bethel Park.  I bought the same welcome mat during my trip back home over the 4th of July.  I bought one for my son as well, he lives in Wichita.  I don't know if they'll get it down there.
