took a little 220 mile ride today with some friends......something feels a little odd....maybe more in the left hand turns..... Undecided........wonder if the left, front wheel bearing is starting to go out?....I helped Hubcap replace the back wheel bearings a couple of years ago.......and I have a new set of front bearings in the saddlebags.......the old girl has about 92,000 miles on her now

Some other maintenance items I need to do are......change the oil(easy).....replace the cooling fluid again(easy).....I'd like to replace the brake/clutch fluid again....easy enough with the speed bleeders and a mightyvac(although having 2 ppl makes it really easy)......

I'd like to check those front wheel bearings.......and also remove the rear wheel and check out the splines on the rear end.....that pinion cup, etc etc.....and re-grease/lube the rear end since I had someone else change the tires the last couple of times.......

I also noticed that the chrome on the alternator cover is "bubbling" up.....I suspect it's from "extra" heat given off from that rebuilt MARS alternator that "whines"....... Undecided Undecided.....that whining noise hasn't gone away yet like I was told it would..... Sad Sad......Need to see if I can get my original one rebuilt locally.....it was working when we took it off although I thought I heard a "squeaking" noise and thought it might have been the bearing going bad?.... Undecided

The last thing that's been bugging me is that the front brake lever is "binding/sticking".....I had replaced the OEM lever with some of those wide bladed ones that are chrome....but I suspect that maybe the bushing is worn now?.....definitely don't need that binding on my front brake lever...... Sad Sad

I'd like to wait until it cools down some before wading into this stuff.....

Trade it for a nice New Gold WIng, then all you have to do is ride and ride and ride.

Mine was starting to "PROTEST" making left turns as well.

When the front tire was replaced I had the front wheel bearings changed (I had already planned on this anyway).

My mechanic said that the bearings were still good but that the inner seal on the left one was leaking a little.

I tightened the stem bearing while the front tire was off, it was definately loose.

She feels much better now, except for a slight vibration when I first lean into the turns or come out of the turn.

It is a high frequncy vibration that I can barely feel through the grips.

The tread pattern on the new Shinko is pretty agressive and it has ALOT of the mold release dimples all over the tire (I'm even thinking that they might be what I' feeling) so I'm not too worried about it YET.

Started out at 29,000.....got 92,000ish now.....average of ~7,900miles a year on her.....some years was a lot more....last couple of years less so....... Sad
