got this quote purported to be by Teddy Roosevelt. Not sure it is but it sure does hit the nail on the head.

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.  'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' Theodore Roosevelt 1907

The rest of them need to be sent home quick fast and in a hurry.  Then we wont have to press 1 for english, we wont have to have fights on may 5th over whos flag to fly...and we wont spend so much darned cash on free programs for people that shouldnt be here

But, it will never work because Obama will lose the majority of his voter base if we send the illegals home

I agree..... but unfortunately those we elected were derelict in their duties and I think it has progressed beyond the point of no return.

Dad and Mom told me stories of our early family and how the very first thing they wanted to do was learn English. The flag i went to war with was our good old Stars and Stripes. I served with Americans-not blank this Americans or blank that Americans-just Americans. I hope i'm correct here and from what i've read here we are in agreement-I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!!!  cooldude Vote the sorry sumbitches out now that refuse to adhere to OUR AMERICAN VALUES. Sorry-rant off. RIDE SAFE.

I am quite proud of my "German-American" heritage,...or should I say "Danube-Swabisch" background.
When my parents emmigrated to the USA, their first goal was to become citizens and learn the english language. They had a hard time learning english, so as soon as I was ready for kindergarden, they bought a used TV so that I could learn the lanuage and be entertained at the same time. And yes they monitored what I was watching (they knew that the media can be used to corrupt young minds).

My parents taught us to think for ourselves and to never take things at "face value". They taught me the value of the individual "right to vote". They taught me not to be a racist, it is normal to dislike a person or group of persons, but not all people deserve disrespect, because we all contribute to the "American Way of Life".

My family immigrated to this country from southern Louisiana (Lafourche Parish).  It was tough, but they managed to learn English. . .well some of my relatives did anyway.  Some of the other ones we still can't understand.
