trying to help a friend with a 1990 gl 1500. one day he had rear brakes , the next day nothing. pedal goes all the way down . no visable leaks on any of the calipers.fluid level in reservoir still full. could it be anything other than the master cyl. thank you for any info that might be helpfull.

Try bleeding them if you havn't already. Other than what i just suggested-i know nothing. RIDE SAFE.

You are aware that when ya take the caliper off, it needs the pedal pumped several times before you restore the brakes.

If you have already done that, then you might have a bubble of air in them.

With liquid brakes, if you no have brakes, then look for a leak or do the suggestion in the top of this message.

The master cylinder could very well be defective,, stuff happens..  But,, first things first.. Was anything done to those brakes recently ?? If so,, what ?? If not,, then as the fellas mentioned,, try bleeding them.. It doesn't much air to cause a problem..

On a 1500 wing, the rear brake is linked with the left front caliper. Ya gotta bleed both. Bet it wasn't done right.
