Doing some PM and want to replace the rear axel bearings (46,000 miles) before a trip.
Here is what I have
91052-mae-004 bearing 6204uu
91053-mn5-003 bearing 20x47x20.6

Any tips on replacing? Toss them in the freezer?

Seals?  Heat gun to warm up the wheel, and freeze the bearings, works gr8.

Isn't the right hand bearing a 5204 (which is also used in the bearing mod with the cut down spacer?)

The left bearing is a 6204-2RS and the right is a 5204-2RS.  You can get them at any bearing house.  I get my bearings from Motion Industries.  I also use SKF bearings.  Since you need to replace both this is the perfect time to perform the Double Row Bearing Mod.  http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/5204_bearing_mod.pdf

Bearings are not a preventive maintenance item.

Those that hype modifications to OEM are ill serving Valkyrie riders.

Some that had made bearing changes end up having to re-do bearings over and over again.

The majority of Valkyries owners have never had to do anything with the bearings in their Valkyries, ever!

The strongest argument against doing modifications to the Valkyrie, such as mentioned, is:

Why replace a perfectly good bearing that is proving itself every day with a new bearing that has never been put to the test.   This adage comes to mind,  "keep fixing it till it breaks".

The previously mentioned "double row bearing modification" has been performed by very few Valkyrie owners compared to the whole class of owners and the fact remains:

Performing the "double row bearing modification" will absolutely reduce [the redundancy of] the protection that the original OEM configuration provides.

Say what they will, (the purveyors of this modification) with glowing testimonials, but the fact remains about the truth of what I state, and to argue otherwise is dishonest and misleading.
