Note she, as we should, turned her haad to look in the direction she wanted to go. How do you know? It looked like she was twisting in 4 directions at the same time. I'd still like to know what the judges saw to make them deduct points. I'd like to know where they think they could have done any better. It looks like a lot of hard work & skill went into that vault.

The head turn starts at 41 seconds and continues all the way through to just before she plants her feet. As to deducting points. Her feet didn't hit the spingboard at the same time. Her right wrist collapsed slightly on the pommel horse

WOW!! i had to work last night, wasn't able to watch the gymnastics, heard we got GOLD!!! first time since 1996!!! AWSOME!! i love the olymipics!! i had two cousins that could have gone, one broke his leg two months before mens gymnastics tryouts, the other was offered a college scholership, and had to chose college or olympics, he didn't feel too confident in his "fencing", so he took the scholarship..... i would have went to the olympics instead of the college, the olympics is a once in a life time opertunity, you can always go to school.....

I have been enjoying the Olympics a lot. Women's gymnastics great. Swimming is great. Looking forward to track and field. It is great to see people who are the best in the world in almost any activity.

That's messed up. I'm surprised the school wouldn't let him start a semester or year later so he could compete in the Olympics. I watched the fencing competitions. The #1 guy in epee is a US Air Force Captain. He's ranked #20 in the world and knocked out the #1 seed. Unfortunately he lost in the Bronze Medal Match but still he made it that far. A personal best. I also saw the Bronze Medal Match for Women's Sabre. The two time Olympic champion, an American, also lost. She was aggressive in the first set and jumped to an early lead. In the second set she got real conservative and her opponent was able to take advantage of that caught up to her in points, then passed her and won the match. In about 10 minutes, I'm going to log on to nbcolympics.com and watch the men's double trap final live online. Marty
