Hay Dag, I own a 99 tourer and a 99 interstate, bought the Tourer in Kansas in 2002, the Interstate in Missouri in 2008.  The vin ends with 00064 on the tourer and 00065 on the interstate.  Is it possible that my bikes started on the assembly line together back in 1999?   Shocked  ??? Hoser

Here is the quote:

"Sequential numbers -"zeroed out" with each model year and with each variant. For example, there will be a 1997 Standard 49-state model with a serial number 00001, a 1997 Standard California model with a serial number 00001, a 1998 Tourer 49-state model with a serial number 00001, etc. Just because one’s bike may have serial number 00001, it doesn’t mean you have the first Valkyrie built, it means you have the first of that particular variant built that year. The VIN taken in whole is unique, but serial numbers are not."

Still very unique to have that.

I am sure they would have been.  I understand that they were made in batches of 20, so you would have the fourth batch of each model that model year.  I believe it says on your VIN plate what month they were produced?
