Hey, I recognize a couple of those hooligans!!!   Glad you had fun.  Wish I were up there riding.

Sounds like a very nice run, I was wondering if you'd made the trip or not.

Did you also check out Box Canyon Falls right there in Ouray?

We didn't see the falls, but I'm heading back up there in a couple of weeks with my daughter. We are going to ride over Independence pass and then come back on 550.  I'm planning on staying near Ouray on the second night. I'll make a point of looking for it.

As always, great report and beautiful country. What type of tents are you using, I'm planning on making a camping stayover trip. The motorcycle specific tents are quite expensive, but there are others and I am interested in what you use. Thanks

I use a tent I got on sale at Big 5's for $30 and it works great for me. My whole camping kit cost me less than one night at a hotel.

South end of town, easy to miss. I believe it has a small brown Parks & Rec's sign stating Box Canyon Falls. It is a sliight hike or incline to get there, but not miles worth. Entrance fee also.

View from near the falls.
