I bought my seat in 99 it has held up pretty well. The new Corbin seats suck. Thin furniture grade leather. Mine is more like saddle grade leather. I wish I'd taken better care of it. I need to get it recovered. Anyone know of someone that will do a quality job? I've tried contacting Carmen Allen but they never respond and I heard they are years in waiting.
Any thoughts?

Pretty sure Corbin will re-cover it I remember Tim ( Redvalk ) claimed he sent his back to them and they did him a good job.

I've seen the new Corbin seats and if they are using that leather... i don't want it. Joanne's Corbin seat we had custom made for her is thin sofa type leather. It's only got 27,000 miles on it and it looks as bad as mine with 120,000 miles on it. Puny soft furniture leather. I want saddle leather.

Had a local auto/boat upholstery shop do my next door neighbors Corbin. Had some additional padding put in as well as recovered, came out even better looking than the original.

If I had to get mine re-covered I would look for a local upholsterer instead of trying to find somebody who just specializes in motorcycle seats.

I recently had my Corbin Stinger seat re-covered and had some padding adjusted to fit me better. I chose an upholsterer who was recommended by a friend and was local in the Dallas area. It was important for me to sit on my seat while the upholsterer made measurements and notes. He did a great job.

I had Sargent do a Gold wing seat long ago. They did do a nice job. But I didn't think they did leather.

This guy recovered my Corbin seat that wore out after 3 years. They wouldnt do a thing and the price for Corbin to recover it is just about the same price as a new seat. Jeff does alot of custom work uses good leather and I do like my seat. It was custom fitted also no wise cracks either. LOL http://www.jeffreyphipps.com/

I was going to go with this guy too, as he had done the seat for my DL1000, but his FAQ says he won't touch a Corbin seat.

http://www.diamondseats.com/Jeff these people are in Seville, FL, don't have a clue how far that is from ya, but they are worth the drive to go talk to them. When they were in Iowa building seats I had them build me seats for about 7 different bikes. Never had a fault with their material or workmanship. Seems like they did a leather on for me once. Most of the time I got their Velcro center and backrest. Worth a call, or visit...
