Did 1085 miles in 19 hours.  Official Iron Butt Ride with certification.  That's the only decal on the phat lady.  Of course, during the ride my son's petcock failed and he was getting 15 mpg on an 03 std.  We had to stop every 60 miles for gas.  That was after he ran out of gas including reserve on the side of I20 near Abilene.  Minor delay!!

You came within 10 miles of my place.  I live off US 98 east of Lucedale.  Did you do the documentation for your cert?

Did it a few years back all within a corner of Texas (Dallas - Amarillo - Lubbock - Odessa - Abilene - Dallas). It's a nice relaxing ride on a Valk...

May this year. Rode to Denver and back. Would have been a very boring ride had it not been for 40 mph winds, gust 50+, saw a tractor-trailor blown over and two pull campers blown over, one of the tow vehicles also blown over. Terrible gas mileage that day. Not the most pleasureable ride I've taken but it was one I won't forget.

Just one of those things I wanted to do.

I did Austin Texas to somewhere in Kentucky (~1100 miles) in 23 hours one November on my '85 Nighthawk 650, then the engine spun a rod bearing, but I didn't apply for the cert.

amazingly that 1000 miles was less taxing then the 700miles we did last month heading out to Keystone SD.  Nitro informed me of that when we had hit 500 miles somewhere in SD, seemed like we had a heck of a lot further to go then just another 200 miles!!  i think having scenery to look at makes the trip much more enjoyable, there's not much to look at when you're crossing that prairy land!

that rain was amazing!!  i think it actually helped keep us cool as we rode.  well worth the ride, would do it again.  too bad we didn't get a "certificate" and sticker......

Did it last year coming back from Inzane in Bellaire, Michigan back to Arlington, TX.  1382 miles in 23 hours.

Will NOT do that again as the iron has gone to mush since.

I have done several just like Daniel Meyer has, BUT, I decided I could use the $$$$ for the certificate more than Mr Kneebone, or whatever his name is.

Him and the lady who rode the BMW were supposedly going to hit all the lower 48 states in one grand swoop.

They published their map and if I recall correctly they missed one state.

I have done all the lower 48 and Alaska in one go around.     I rode the route, but I rode it and smelled the Roses, and I hit all the lower 48.

I looked at it this way, I didn't need a certificate to tell me I had run an Iron Butt.   My butt reminded me of it, so the paper would have been useless.

I've also done the 4 corners, no documentation, and the 3 countries I believe it is called.   It is Mexico, United Sates and Canada.

I got my certificate..... 1040 miles in just under 16 hours.  Then I rode 40 miles home, changed bikes, and took the sidecar rig to the Ride For Kids.

We did our's in 15 hours, was told at the lunch stop we had it wasnt a race, who knew. Their were 4 of us and we did it for charity, They made us stop every 115 miles or so, they cooked us lunch half way and we were their before they had started cooking, the head of the Iron butt association was the one who mentioned it wasnt a race, we thought we might get in trouble but didnt. Had a pretty good time didnt thing we would, We have done it now 4 more time's unoffical hall butt the first day get where we are going then ride and have a great time.

I've done numerous LD rides and have all certs, awards, blisters and pats-on-the-back.
They include:
1998 MN1K; Finisher (Rider #194)
1999 Butt-Lite 5000; Finisher (Rider #35) “Saddle Sore 5000” Qualifier
2000 MN1K; DNS (Daughters wedding took priority)
2001 MN1K; Finisher (Rider #194) “Group Saddle Sore” Qualifier
2002 Great Lakes Challenge; Finisher (Rider #14)
2003 MN1K; "World Record Year" Finisher (Rider #194)
2004 MN LDRiders; Border to Border; Finisher.

I was riding LD long before it became fashionable.
I no longer compete and my rally bike just recently left the barn.
So now I just enjoy fair weather daylight rides on Sunday mornings on my Valk.
But I guess its still in my blood because a typical Sunday ride for me is 300+ miles.
If anyone is thinking of joining this cult give me a shout and we can compare notes.

Main reason I went for the certificate is that there are (non-Valk riders) who don't believe a woman can ride that far.

My longest day... and I didn't even THINK of it at the time, was REAL close to 1000 miles. Orlando to Greenwood Indiana.  In 1989, on a Honda (Go figure) VFR700 Interceptor.  uh... 14.5 hours.

DAYMN!

Longest day so far on the Valk?  700 miles when I flew to VA and rode the IS home.

I have plans for a 1000 miler this spring.  Shocked
