I'm in the market for some and I do "use" mine. I'm not sure if these are study enough to be more than something that looks good. I do like the LED lights and chrome trim.

They are plastic, so probably not all that heavy duty. I do not have any experience with them though.

For a little bit more (about $250) you can get a set of Tsukayu bags which are fiberglass and very heavy duty. They also go with the lines of the Valk very well.

I had a few sets of Tsukayu's over the years and thought they were great!

Those bags seem to be a very close copy of Yamaha OE accessory bags (but no lights).  I do not know if they are built the same as the Yamahas (which are ABS, just like the Valk bags/trunk).  I got a set new never installed/used, and had them painted to match and put them on the wife's VStar.  The Yamahas are well made.  They are a little different than usual cruiser bags in that they are notably shorter, but much wider (panniers), and carry a decent amount of stuff.  You'll need to swing wide of gas pumps and cars in the driveway.  You can stack stuff well above the top of the bags, because the lids are large and curved.  Latches are very functional.

Matzu are cheaper than Yamaha (and bigger)... if they are the same.

Yamaha 1100/650 -  (the 1300 bags are a little bigger)

I believe one of the Michigan Misguided installed the Matzu on his Valk, maybe he will chime in.

i had the LN's on my sabre.  i friend modded some heavy duy brackets for them in particular, the brackets that you get for the LN's are very flimsy.  i had them on about a year and sold them.  they wouldn't hold much weight, the key lock may be a deterent but could be popped open very easily.  i wouldn't purchase the LN's again.  this set you're looking at may be a bit heavier duty-not sure, or the price hike could be because they are larger than the LN's. and the quality of the brackets will matter overall.

I had the ones you show. I liked them a lot. DO NOT use the mounting hardware they give you. ???
Reinforce them with sheet metal inside / outside and presto.  Wink  See photos of them on my Valk. Lips Sealed

The phrase "you get what you pay for" comes to mind.

Can't remember who at the moment, but somebody posted a while back that their son put a set of those on his red & white standard and had them painted to match the bike.  Seem to remember him posting that they're an ok bag and not the best quality, but good enough.  Looked pretty good on the bike though.

The closest you can get to OEM looks are the Champion Patriot bags.  They're really very nice, great locks and hardware and are lined......however, they're very very $pendy.

IMHO, the next best aftermarket bag are the Tsukayu line of bags.  Again, very nice bags, great locks and hardware, are lined......and they generally won't break the bank....are less than half of what you can get at set of the Champion bags for.

Don't waste your money. Buy the Tsukayu. As said above, they are fiberglass and heavy duty.

I bought a set a of the exact ones almost 2 years ago. Really liked the shape and the size. Only live an hour away so drove to the business to pick them up. Wasn't any cheaper than buying them on  E-bay they add the freight if you buy them over the counter.

Used "Easy Brackets" to mount to the bike. Noticed last month the ABS was cracking around the upper mount holes on both bags.

Asked Mutazu about a warranty and they said "the manufacturer who makes our products does not give us a warranty so we DON'T pass one on".

Did some JB weld repairs and made some extra brackets for support for now. Maybe if I had some brackets from the begining they might be just fine. If I had to do it again I'd buy something Fiberglass and stronger.

Rode in the rain a couple of times and they are NOT water proof, kinda new that when I bought them cause the do not have any kinda of rubber seal and the lenses are NOT sealed.

Also on a couple of rides the lids popped open when I was sure I locked them, might have been because of the lack of support from the "Easy Brackets". The ABS is just TOO flexible.
Good Luck

I used them on a Vulcan with very good results.  And I do use bags to carry clothes, tools and whatever else I need for the rides I do.

I bought the Tsukayu bags and have a different opinion.  They are fiberglass and they are fairly heavily made but, the lids fit poorly, the seal between the lid and the bag is cheap and does not stay in place, one hinge broke immediately and the finish is garbage.  If you buy them expect to spent lots of time taking the waves out of them.  I mean bad waves.

Put them on my son's bike, they are plastic and not that heavy duty we altered the leather valkyrie bag mounts and used re-enforced fender washers and a bottom support. so far they work good and look good.

Yes. I have those on my bike. That is my Red and White (thanks for posting pics RTaz, as I am still too dumb to do it myself LOL).  I really can't complain about these bags they work good.  Not the best quality but I have had no issues so far.  I would suggest using the factory leather bag mounts for them because of the support under the bags.  It seems to work well.  I have been in rain and the only water that got into mine was where the bag latches (water filled up in the latch part but nothing in my bag got wet).  If you are looking for a high quality bag I would probably pass but if you are in need for something economical that locks these are good.  Just make sure you don't use the mounts that come with them because I can see how they would crack.  Good Luck.
