Kickstand switch- how hard to replace

Looking in a Clymer manual it looks like the connection for this is by the battery and it states to remove the wire from the hooks.
I take it these are on the frame somewhere?
How long is the pigtail on the switch?

Is the replacement "cut and dry" or is there a trick or two I should know?

Switch should be here Friday, just trying to get a heads up...

very dirty?   Not if you clean the thing regularly.......dirt hs no place on my Valkyrie underneath or behind the ears......nowhere especially moving parts like the kickstand and spring....clean as a whistle

Mine was in front of the bottom of the battery box and took a pair of right angle needle nose pliars, most of a 12 pk of Yeungling and some cut up hands to get the !@#$ wiring socket apart and back together.

Moving the modules out of the way to access the plug helps....just make sure you remember how they all "nest" together and their proper orientation (especially the bank angle sensor).  I replaced mine a few years ago and it is a bit tight for large hands to get to the plug.

Also, pay close attention to the way the switch is bolted/positioned and you will be fine.
