Well, I guess I spoke too soon.  After putting her all back together after a desmog and pingle, I have another problem.  When I hold the clutch in, my oil light comes on.  As soon as I release the clutch lever, the light goes back out.  Let me tell you, it added a tremendous pucker factor while I was sitting in traffic trying to find a place to get off the road and check it (with a small trailer behind me).  Oil level is fine and just changed along with a new filter.  Any ideas?

I think you have done more than you reveal in your post.

The clutch connection is actually the switch at the clutch lever and it would seem to me there is crossed up wires.

Since this problem has just appeared, the best solution would be to go back over your last operations as an aid to finding the source of the problem.

It would also be good to give more info on what you're riding - model.

Ricky,
thanks.  I'll report back on what I find, I updated my post to include the left out info.  It's possible I crossed those two wires, though prior to your reply I'd have bet my paycheck they were right.  What is it they say about sowing the seeds of doubt?
Thanks
