Do we have a 'go-to' guy for wheel dampeners or is HDL still the hot ticket?

My local dealer was able to get them cheaper than HDL and faster.  I have lost faith in HDL because several times I got no notice they were out of stock until I emailed them to ask were the heck my order was.

Our local dealer is the one who gives all the others a bad name.

You can shim them with roof flashing cut to size and fit all the way around them....I know several bikes that's running them with flashing and no problems....I even know one guy who cut up a beer can to make his shim.

I shimmed mine with grey RTV. The advantage to this method is that the RTV doesn't firm up until the final drive flange is mounted to the dampeners. This worked for two riding seasons until I purchased new dampeners. Based on what they looked like when I replaced them, they could have gone longer.

The down side is that it was a PIA to scrape the RTV off of the dampener pockets.
