What does the data say?

Corinth, Texas

« on: September 03, 2012, 06:19:59 PM »

Time to pick a spot for next week's meeting.

We've pretty much done west central and north central a lot lately.  Any votes for moving east?

Love and War in Texas always gets a good crowd.  Is the Plano location far enough east to fit the bill?

Other recommendations welcome.  Let's hear 'em.

Looks like we have picked a spot.

Love and War in Texas
601 E. Plano Pkwy
Plano, TX

Meet and eat at 7:00PM
Meeting at 8:00PM

Ride reports from the Sept 8th ride, upcoming Texas Hill Country ride (maybe a T-shirt to show - up to Oz on that one) and also discussions on October meeting spot.

A speaker is planned as well.

And we will have the ever-popular 50/50 drawing.

See you there!

This is where the Sache chapter of CMA (Sons on Steel) meets.  Very biker friendly.

A long way for a dinner meeting for me west of I35.

My two cents

Positions noted.  Yet for some of us, Plano is way west!

It's a longer ride for me.  But we need to be fair and move the meetings around.

Look how far you rode just to eat lunch Saturday!  coolsmiley

I love riding anywhere as long as I am reasonably comfortable.
There's a major difference for me, and probably others, when we are talking about riding extra long distances across the Metroplex at 6 PM and having to ride home after dark.
Yea, I can always cage it or wait until next month Smiley

Downgrade us to a maybe.  Hollydays work schedule is getting longer and I'm still having a bit of pain.  Might be a last minute decision for us.

Our speaker tonight is the sales manager of Maxim Honda. He will be talking about the new models coming out and will hopefully be able to ride a new toy for us to look at.

I think the threat of rain caused a few to miss our meeting on Thursday, but we still had a vocal and hungry group attend.  Besides the usual fellowship, we discussed the upcoming wrench party on September 22nd at Dave and Nora Shelton's in Mansfield, the Ride for Kids on October 7th, our next meeting location for October 11th and the Hill Country Ride on Oct 12-14th in Fredericksburg.  The consensus was to ride somewhere other than the 3 sisters on this year's Hill Country Ride.  F-Stop is working on some ideas, Flamingobabe has put in a nice route and I've taken suggestions from US385 on another route.

After I quit jabbering, Dave Bryson of Maxim Honda talked about upcoming models from Honda and the features of the current Goldwing versus the 2010 model.  Then we went outside to look at the NC700X he had ridden over for us to see the features (it has a great storage area where you think the gas tank is) and to sit on the bike.  It is light!  It can be equipped with hard bags and actually had a nice feel to it.

We then concluded the meeting and the lone Valkyrie rider for the night headed out into a rain-less ride back home.

The Usual Suspects

Dave Bryson, David Garb and arm of Dave Barnett.

Disco on the NC700X

Yup, that's a storage area, not the gas tank!

Next meeting is October 11th.   Put in your suggestions now or we'll be at Fuddruckers in Grapevine.

I was planning to attend but I had to take my dad to the ER that night.  He called me saying he could not walk.  My wife and daughter took him to the ER where I met them.  His BP was up and after doing some blood tests they found his uric acid level was high and most likely causing the severe pain in his foot.  They have him on some meds and as of today he is doing much better.  Hope to see you all soon.
