Anyone out there running a Dunlop Wintersport?  I have a 205 Goodyear Triple Tread now.

I have one on the Wing and really like it...  it's a bit rounder and come in the 195 and the 175 sizes

Any advice?

I ran one of my wing as well.  It was perfect for me.  I wasn't aware they were still making the 175.  Have you found a source?

I ran the 175 on the 1800 'wing, and it was great.  If they made a 195/65, 205/60 or 65, I'd have one on the Valkyrie.

Although they would fit, I believe most people would consider both the 175 & 195 too short for the Valkyrie.  They would be a good way to get the seat lower if seat mods, shorter shocks and slipping forks weren't enough.

Whereas the stock 180/70-16 has a sidewall height of 126mm, the 175/60-16 ROF's sidewall is 105mm (.83" less) and the 195/55-16's sidewall is 107.25mm (.74" less).

That's good to know, I was wondering about the tire height.

Thanks Disco,

So... having heard and digested such, what are the current fav's for dark siding a Valk?

The Goodyear TTA I currently have is alright but it has some pretty square corners on it which results in an experience similar to riding a very spirited pony... that is always wanting to run through the ditch, jump the fence and go roll in the grass.

One of the things I really like about my Wintersport on the wing is it has what I have come to call a J-Lo bottom.  Nicely rounded.  When I moved from the Pilot GT to the Wintersport the transition was transparent.

I am looking for that on the Valk.

I know several folks riding and enjoying the General Altimax.  It's available in the Valkyrie-popular sizes of 205/55 and 205/60, but not 205/65.

I believe Houdini was the first in DFW to follow the recommendation for the Falken Ziex 512.  After his rousing endorsement (having come from a GYTT and saying he'll never go back), Valkpilot, Thagandy, and I followed him.  HayHauler likes his so much he's hoarding them!  I believe HotGlue may be on one now, too.  I love mine.  Once you determine your preferred pressure, I believe you will find it as seamless as the ROF on the 'wing.  The compound is a little softer (420 versus 440) and it's also a bit cheaper than the Altimax.

I thought it was the 65 that was hard to find, but it's the 60.  Discount Tire Direct doesn't even list it anymore.  That's OK, I'm enjoying the modest reduction in RPM.

Quite like this tyre, have no idea how many miles I have on it but a good few.
Handles real well Toyo Proxes 205 55 16           .

Disco is right, I have 2 spares in the garage in storage I like it so much.
HotGlue has one and he has about 25k miles on his and has probably another 5-7k to go, judging by the remaining tread depth.

I run mine about 38 psi and HotGlue runs his between 42 and 44.  It's just a ride preference thing.
