It is susposed to replace the F 16, A 10, A 6 and the Harrier.

Some things about the idea of a multi role aircraft makes alot of sense.


But, the phrase, "Jack of all trades and Master of none", also comes to mind.

Here's a pic of the F-35 in front of where I work.  It was here a few weeks ago for a brief look-see for the local media......and a certain Mayor that's got his panties in a wad about the F-35's noise.

Hey, that looks like the Climatic Hanger at Eglin AFB....is that right?  If so, I was stationed there 1972-1975.  What a great place.....
