I am always needing something.  I usually buy from my local mom and pop.  But they don't have what I want.

Which right now is specifically replacement mounting hardware for my Baker Air Wings.  I went to the Baker site, and I think they are too high.  I looked at some general bolt sites.. and while lower... I still think they were too much dough.

Anyone have a "hook up"?

I need 5mm x 25mm with matching acorn nuts.

I went to Ace Hardware and bought all SS bolts/nuts to replace all the plastic ones, and included the mounting bolts/nuts as well. I didn't bother to make sure they were metric, just bought SAE, looks the same and since it doesn't have to bolt to anything metric it doesn't make any difference. Also cheaper than buying chrome ones.

Ace Hardware at US31 and Worthsville Road.  They are really proud of them because they keep the bins locked.

A second choice would be Dannemiller True Value on 135 between Smith Valley and County Line.

I cannot guarantee that either has metric chrome, but I am sure that Ace has chrome nuts and bolts.

I usually get them at Dannemillers.

They have 5x20 and 5x30 but not 5x25.

I just don't want to pay $20+ for 4 nuts and 4 bolts.  I like to keep it all metric, just to be consistent.  That's all.

I have red zip-ties now!  BLECH!

My Ace Hdw is not trying to retire off of their metric nut and bolt sales. It's still cheaper than ordering from H D L or the like AND the Ace i use is in my town. Nother wurds-no waiting fer parts to arrive.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

. . .  They have 5x20 and 5x30 but not 5x25. . . .

Isn't the only difference between 5x30 and 5x25 a hacksaw?

Maybe... but I hate to hack it up.  This is just about patience.  Hack the end off, and it just asks for rust.

If you cut it can you add a acorn nut to cover the end?

Yeah... it'll be covered... but it'll still be wrong.   Roll Eyes  I know... it's amazing what a guy can be OCD about, while not giving a crap about if my bike is clean or not.

Frankly, it's less work to buy the right bolt.  25mm with an acorn nut is the RIGHT one.

I did NOT like the bunjee cord.  not at all.
