Here's the general plan for the Fredericksburg trip next weekend:

Friday arrival and check in to the hotel.  Evening trip for burgers and bats.

Saturday morning ride.  There will be several options to choose from here.  You can follow FlamingoBabe on her leisurely ride with a distillery tour, etc.  You can follow me for a more aggressive ride (route TBD).  I believe there will be another group as well.

Instead of taking a group of fifty-some folks out to a restaurant on Saturday night, we've decided that the best choice is to do a mass purchase of burgers, dogs, and fixins, and grill them up at the hotel.  Bring whatever drinks you care to have, and we'll try to have a few coolers there to keep 'em cold.  Put some money in the pot to help with the mass purchase cost, and we'll have a good time eating and visiting there at the hotel.  No one has to ride back, and we can have all the time we want.

Sunday morning, breakfast and depart at your own pace.

Sound good to everyone?  I'm going to start a poll in another thread, to get an idea of how many people are doing what (so we know how much stuff to buy, etc.)

I'm cool with all that...

I am gonna try to tear out early on Saturday AM to ride the sisters via the "back door" Junction turnoff...  all riders are welcome.

It will be a long day...  bring water and your sunscreen... cover your faces, don't expect stops to be too often or too lengthy.

My time on the road is dearly purchased and very precious to me... I am driven to be prudent in using it.

I do not wait for sleepy heads... come the dawn, I ride!

Once again, I'll be arriving on Friday and leaving on Saturday .... one of these days we'll NOT have a conflict!!

Works out well, since I couldn't be present for the grilling of the hot dogs anyway.

Friday and Sunday will be fairly long days in the saddle for me and, considering there are so many options in and around Fredericksburg, I plan not to spend all day Saturday riding.  I'm thinking about a fairly early Saturday departure for a run down to Lost Maples State Park (just because I've ridden past it several times, but never been inside) and back to Fredericksburg to spend the afternoon in the National Museum of the Pacific War.  It looks like a nice loop will be 150 miles.

For those interested...

This is my "back door" route to the FM's 335. 336 & 337 and back to F'burg.  US 377 is a pretty cool ride between the interstate and Hwy 41... nice river crossings and a few high point overlooks of the south Llano river.  Geologically speaking, this is not really "hill country" this is the eastern edge of the Stockton Plateau.

Google claims it is 258 miles and 5 hours, 30 minutes...

That'll easily put us back even before the really late risers finish brunch...

Come the dawn Saturday... I ride!  All are invited...

Wizard... TJ... Early Bird?

Whoever...

As for more specific times:
I'm being told that the group for BatBurgers is leaving out from the hotel at 5 or 5:30 Friday.
I will take whoever wants to go on a ride through Willow City loop, then on up north, stopping for lunch at Marble Falls, and then back around to Fredericksburg, on Saturday.  We will depart at 9:30.
Dinner Saturday is precise time TBD, but should be fairly obvious with all the cooking taking place there at the hotel.

See ya'll tomorrow!

Hotglue, what time will you be there Friday? I should be passing through there about 3-4:00 today on my way to San Marcos. I will give you a call as I'd love to see you and FB even if just to say "Howdy". I'll call the number that ends with 25.
