This Saturday, the 20th, is the date of the postponed November meeting. Last I checked, there was somewhat more enthusiam for BBQ at the Stockyards, so I'm working on a ride route that goes west then circles back to the Stockyards.
It would help to know who's going so we can plan some meet up points.
Sound off!

Looks like a good plan. Risckys BBQ is good stuff. How about arriving at 11am, lunch begins at 11:30?

This place has realllly good Q , and a few blocks south of stock yards ,,if ya havent tried it its worth it,,Then you could putt back up to the yards for a stroll around, and a frozen type refreshment... http://www.angelosbbq.com/menu.htmlAn old familey owned place ,,plenty of parking and indoor seating rooms,,just something to kick around... But yes.. 1 maybe 2 , no orders ((as of today)), so would be able to join yall north somewhere. Walt--- you copying?

Here's a proposed route: I'm suggesting that those from north, east, and central parts of the metromess meet near 121 and I-35E, then head up to Justin. This could be the second meet point for those from the southwest side. We'd proceed from there on the route shown, ending in the Stockyards around 11:00 per Rainmaker's suggestion. Whattaya think?

There's a Steak and Shake on the north side of 121 immediately west of where 121 crosses I-35E
855 Highway 121 Lewisville, TX 75067
We'll meet there around 7:45 am and be KSU by 8:00.
It will take 30 to 45 minutes to get to Justin for the secondary meet up. We can meet there at the corner of 156 and 455 where 455 turns west at the Justin Boots outlet store on the SW corner.
*** KSU in Justin at 9:00 am ***
The entire route from the meetup in Lewisville to the Stockyards is 116 miles and should take 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Buzzkill, if you want to ride down to the meetup, let's hook up at the Chevron station at Swisher and 35 at 7:30.

Twelve souls at lunch today at Riscky's BBQ in the Stockyards. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal, but there is also a Coopers BBQ just north of the Stockyards with free parking and not as many tourists. On Exchange street, you can't park anymore without paying. The motorcycle parking has dried up. So, probably our last visit there.
Many, many thanks to Valkpilot for planning and leading the ride that ended up in the Stockyards.
Plans and meeting location being planned for November. We will have a speaker so make plans to be there.

Ran into some of you at Steak n Shake Sat. morning and the sight of all those Valks made me want to go and get mine and join in on the ride, but after a 12 hr shift and 2 more to follow I needed to sleep. Maybe next time. Glad you had a good day for it. Going to try to make the next meeting, depending on work schedule, if not maybe I'll find you on the road.

I took the short cut to 35W. The only problem was 121.. should have gone East to Dallas, then North. 20 miles longer.. 20 minutes faster!! By the way... Good job Valkpilot. The ride was well planned including the little trip around the lake. Timing to the BBQ meetup was good also. The others, who didn't ride with us, had only been there a few minutes. The route included som great scenery and a few local twisties on 2123. My hand me down cell phone doesn't take very good pics but here's what little I got at an emergency 'nature stop' request from the Buzz man.
