As I had mentioned a few weeks back.
Im in need of a new speedo.
Getting the glass changed has proved fruitless.
There is a speedo on sale on Ebay for a 2000 C showing all of a 1000 miles.
But it does have a slightly different face which is of no consiquence.

My question is to you guys as the owner has not answered my question yet.
Is the speedo on a 2000 C <Tourer> model electronic drive or manual as is my 99F<standard>??

Tourer and standard are the same drive. The different face was a year change.

Only the interstate is electronic drive.

Check prices though. You can still buy them new at HDL.

Thanks for the education.
I wasnt aware of that site too.
Its in my favorites now.
But.
I have found from my local dealer just because its still listed.
It doesnt make it usually available.
Ive had a heck of a time getting new parts for my 99 during its rebuild.
Im done more or less now, but went through alot of grief finding parts.
New or used.

My Honda dealer has never heard of Direct Line either. As they sell parts for Victory and other makes, I don't think they are an actual Honda outfit. Their website is 'directlineparts.com', The opening line on their site is 'We do not stock OEM parts. We will place your order with Honda and ship them to you ASAP. This takes 7 to 10 days for items that are in stock at Honda.'

HDL is not Honda.

I dont know what you think is an "actual Honda outfit"  So, maybe they need to have the white coveralls with the Honda patch like the workers at the Honda plant.  HDL has been a reliable source for genuine Honda parts for a long time.

Just because your local shop doesnt know about them....my local shop was unaware that Honda made a six cylinder motorcycle one day when I pulled in with my Valkyrie.  Local Dealers hire kids that barely know which end of a toothbrush to use much less where to find Honda parts other than thier back room with 50-100% mark up.

Even if your local dealer price matches (mine does) you still save with HDL because you dont have to drive to the dealership twice to get the part.  UPS does the driving for you

Just a final word on my new to me speedometer.
In my usual way and not knowing any better with the Valkyrie in general..
The background on the original to me guages on my 1999 have a green background.

While not terribly important but.........This might be important to some of you.
The newer guages apparently have an orange background.
The orange incidently is much easier to see for me any way at night.
So now I know when in search for a new tachometer, which is my next step.
Im going to make sure it has and or is a newer orange lite background guage.

While we are throwing out parts suppliers, I usually get my www.ronayers.comThey are most times a few percent cheaper, but turn around is about the same as hdl.
Their site will let you save your vehicle so you can jump to the fiche quickly.
Check them out for yourself.

I did up grade the bulbs as I think your the one who led me in that direction about a year ago or so.
I was reffering to the background of the numbers themselves.
My old guages with a clear bulb the backgrounds white.
The numbers are sort of a lime green.
On the new speedometer the background is still white.
But the numbers are orange.
Im not aware as to ow that in itself can be changed.

Back in the 80s I wanted to buy a then new desighed Trans Am.
Pontiac went to a black background with orange numbers.
I didnt like it.
So I went for a Camaro instead.
Black background with brighter yellowish numbers.

It is really apples and oranges sorry for the pun.
But I now have at night mismatched gauges.
I cant see how changing a clear bulb can change that.
All it would change is the background color using the different color LEDs not the color of the numerals themselves.
