After riding into Luckenbach just last Saturday during the Texas Ride In...

...and having a moment of silence for a friend...

...I was back there this Saturday for the Harvest Classic Rally...

...lots of great bikes, but these two beasts from the past stood out...

...plenty of classic bikes including this still running 1924 Beardmore Precision Model F...

..."Quadrophenia"...

...I think this is how a scooter is supposed to be used...

...sweet little Honda...

...side cars...

...and plenty more...

...had a great time just wandering around looking at all the great bikes and visiting with lots of like minded gearhead folks.  There was also a band that played some great blues, but for some reason wouldn't play any Disco...

Man!  Wish I had known about that show.  I would have gotten up early and ridden over.  We never have shows like that here in Houston.

Would've made for a great three weekends in a row trip for me too.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Went two years ago and it was great!

Tried to go the last couple of years but it just wasn't in the cards.
Got a couple of friends that go every year and camp at the rally.  This year they did both nights.

Dang Disco, I guess great minds think alike.  But could we stay in the Peachtree and make the ride to the show? Or would we need to find another place to stay?

I would think you would need to make reservations now in order to be there the same weekend as this show.  It's already difficult to book Fredericksburg in October so someone like the State Representative who lives in Houston and has a very distinguished first name would have to make the call pretty quickly.

FYI, folks start coming in Friday morning to set up camp at Luckenbach for the Harvest Classic.  This is one of two events during the year where you can camp at Luckenbach.  By Saturday evening, the rally is mostly done.

A little history...
In 2010 Laser Pat and I trailered our Valkyries to the Armadillo Farm Campground next door to Luckenbach to go to the Harvest Classic and to ride with Roger and Maris' Harley group who were riding the Three Sisters that weekend.  Pat, Deb and I had decided that we wanted to stay in our travel trailers rather than a motel.  We may still hold the Valkyrie record for the shortest trailer haul -- about 60 miles -- to an event, though not a VRCC event...and for the record, we did ride around 300 miles that day.

So, getting back to organizing this thing, I'm here to help out all I can and please feel free to contact me for any information.  Right or wrong, I've got plenty of information!
