I'm looking for a set of hard bags for the bike but wanted to ask if anyone has dealt with this issue.

I put a set of Progressive 11.5 inch rear shocks on and need to know what size bags to use since I've lowered it 1.5 inches or so.   Just wondereing if anyone has the same setup with hard bags and is so, what kind?

Thanks

I've had my Champion hard bags through 3 different sets of shocks (Stock, 11.5 Progressive 412's, and 13" Progressive 412's).  Switched from the 11.5" shocks when I had an issue with bottoming out.  There were no 'mounting or clearance' issues, no matter what the shock length.

Shouldn't be an issue as changing the shocks won't affect the relationship between bags and exhaust pipes.

I have three Valkyries with three separate shock heights, short, normal, and tall.  All three have Honda OEM hard bags.

Love the Mustang bags, I had looked into the Champions or the Bossbags but really favor the Stangs now that i know they will work..  Is there a certain model #  ??

is that the soft bags with just the hard bag guard rail supports on them or do you have the complete oem style hard bag mounting system installed

pdorman.....

The Mustangs come in two flavors......plain and studded.  Here's a link to the Mustang site.....

http://www.mustangseats.com/Category/Saddlebags-Luggage

The studded version's part number is 13300.

When I bought mine, I bought them here (back when I bought them, the price was a few dollars less than they are now).

mmurffy03.....

They are hard bags......and the rails are OEM.  The bags come from Mustang covered in their fax leather material.  It's not a cheap covering......they're very nice.

For both of you guys......

The bags are NOT a direct fit.....especially using the OEM bag rails.  I had to massage them to make everything work.

Alot of folks use the Easy Brackets to mount them.  Here's a couple responses to someone that asked about mounting them with the Easy Brackets (lots of pics).....

Here's a response to how I mounted the Mustangs and what mounts I used (lots of pics).....

And if you're interested, here's a post about my trunk and how I mounted it (again, lots of pics)....

And if you guys want to know about my fairing.....

If you guys have anymore questions, let me know and I'll try to answer them the best I can.
