Damn dude... glad you're OK.

I shot today.  Both Knight rifles are spot on.  I shot 1" groups at 90 yards today.

I shoot a 450 grain solid .50 cal bullet in a .54 gun, propelled by 85g of FFG Triple 7 powder.

It'll get 'er done.

I also like powder better than pellets. You can use a little less and burns better. But for my deer hunting rifle its easier in the field using pellets. I use the quick loads that hold the pellets bullet and primer. I can reload my knight in about 20 seconds. still didnt get a chance to shoot, planned to go tomorrow afternoon with a buddy. He just bought a new shooting rest we are going to try out. Also bought some hornady sst slugs for the shotgun, I know ill have to sight it back in. going from a 1 ounce slug down to a 300 grain which is about 5/8 of an ounce.

The Knight Rifles are awesome. My Encore is a tack driver with most center fire barrels but the muzzleloader barrel has never been as accurate as my Knight was.

Got out and shot today. The white hots shot 1 inch high at 100 yards, a couple clicks on the scope and had 4 holes holding an inch and a half group. The fifth shot was 2 inches off target and was really getting hard to start the bullet. So im thinking after 3 shots I need to run a dry patch down the barrel. As for the hornady slugs my first shot was a foot and a half high and 10 inches left. Took a little time and 10 slugs to get it on target. Great day to be out shooting with good friends. 3 does ran across between us and the target and it was really hard to hold back the inner redneck in me. If it had been a week later one or all three would have had a really bad night.

Other than my PSE bow a muzzleloader is the only gun I've ever deer hunted with. Started with TC45 kit and then went to a 58 custom Hawken style with open sights and since the eyes are aging now a Knight 50 have cut more than 50 from the herd with them. Already have a doe in the freezer and hope to get a good buck when gun opens Saturday unless one walks within bow range tomorrow.  cooldude  Had a giant body sized 8 pt at 75 yards this morning and couldn't entice him away from the real McCoy.  Sad

Been in a bit of a panic this week. Gun season comes in Saturday and when I shot my encore with the 460 S&W mag barrel this week it was vertically stringing a group 10" at 100 yards. Thought my ammo was old so I loaded some more and it still sucked. Turned out to be my rear stock bolt was a little bit loose.

All good now. cooldude

still looking at all of the Muzzle loaders I can. I found one I really like and feels so good in my hands. CVA,  Apex. Nice rifle!! I may have to see what," after hunting days", sales asks for it.  Right now it is $528. I'll have to sell a gun to pay for it.  Well, I should say, I did sell a gun to pay for it. Got rid of my glock .40 cal yesterday.  Cheesy  But I will be patient before I buy anything.

THe CVA Apex is a verynice gun. I shoot a CVA optima with the realtree stock and stainless barrel. 3.5 X10 X50 scope and I've just taken my first deer with it the fifth of Nov. With the 28in barrel the Apex is better for the max load of 150gr. powder. My 26in barrel is good for about 120gr. any more than that is just burnt out the barrel. I took a 9 point at 80yds with 100gr. of powder and a powerbellet 295gr hollow point. He went about 50 yds and fell dead.
