I tried one of those Kuryakyn on my 97 Tourer.... Rattlebars Heel/Toe was much better even with size 9 boots.

I put one on my Tourer a few years ago and now I can't imagine riding without it! Don't remember what I paid for it . . . 'course I don't remember a lot of things.

A lot of Valkyrie parts used to be readily available and cheap to buy. At one time bag rails were just over $100 but they run around $500 and up now, why is this part selling for more than it used to so special?

Two part equation..> Part A - They're not making them anymore. Part B - People are willing to pay silly amounts of money for 'em... But those together, and voila... I wish I'd stocked up back in the day myself!

Hadn't figured that one out yet, glad I got mine at a period when they weren't so well liked. I think the Kick-Shifter was the preferred choice. I put one on my Tourer a few years ago and now I can't imagine riding without it! Don't remember what I paid for it . . . 'course I don't remember a lot of things. Elephants don't like to be fed tabacco, at least that's what my granny told me. Granny was really old.

I'd never heard that one before, so had to google it... Seems it comes from an elephant named Topsy. One of her trainers was very abusive, and she killed him after he tried to feed her a lit cigarette. She killed a total of 3 trainers over 3 years and was sentenced to die. It seems the means of her execution and the spectacle around it was a big deal at the time. She was electrocuted in 1903, and video of her execution was taken and distributed... Interesting stuff... More info, and the video if you really wanna see an elephant ride the lightning is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topsy_%28elephant%29

You missed the point of my question Brian, just about every part I buy for my Valkyrie costs more today than it did yesterday, why did this particular part warrant a post singling it out? I can probably find 100 parts on eBay that cost more than what they originally sold for but I don’t feel the urge to list them all.

Maybe the difference is so far apart from the original? I'm used to shifting without one, so it's not a "have to have" for me. But, they sure look good, and they are Chrome. Hay Jimmyt

Black doesn't go with the chrome on your bike.... You haven't look at my bike in a while Jimmy, I PC'ed a good portion of my chrome pieces to black already and intend to black out more as time/cash permits.

Did you black out the front rotor covers too??!! That would be a travesty. Hay Jimmyt Maybe a recent pic with your big $$ camera would help. Hay Jimmyt

Did you black out the front rotor covers too??!! That would be a travesty. I agree, it would be a travesty, but maybe someday when they get all rusty.... I am planning on blacking the forks someday, and maybe the rims, any maybe some more of the engine covers. Maybe a recent pic with your big $$ camera would help.  I can do that. Or I could use my little @$$ camera and just say I used the big one.  Here's a couple from last year;
