I have a 2001 honda valkyrie Interstate and I would like to get a trunk spoiler for it. The Honda dealerships tell me that the valks never came from the factory with one. I see Interstates for sale online that have them every so often. Does anybody know where you can get one? Are they Goldwing spoilers customized to fit the valk or what? If so, does anybody know what year of goldwing the spoilers are off of? Any help would great be appretieated!

Motorider once emailed me...

Hey Fred, I bought the Low profile chrome spoiler, item #KU3228 from Wing Stuff. (Google Wing Stuff if you have never heard of them) I also bought the rack risers item #KU7154. The spoiler would not fit under the rack without the rack risers. It fit pretty good but not perfect. The curve of the Goldwing trunk must be just a little different from the Valk.

Hope it helps.
Fred.

Motor55.com in Taiwan has a very nice GL1800 spoiler for a lot less than OEM. Several here have them, as I do, and a the fit and finish is fine. It comes with either clear or red lens and is painted. I got mine in black and it matches perfectly - duh! They are painted in Gold Wing colors of course. Shipping is right at $30 and it came quickly.

I was also wanting to add the spoiler to my IS trunk, for the extra high mounted brake light. If you go ahead with it, how about post a how to and what parts you need to help others?

Any possible way we could get a side view or top down view picture of it.

I would love to add one to my I/S but not so sure with my rack install if this one will fit.

Thanks in advance.

I have a rack and tried it for fit over the spoiler. It's close but no go for me. Maybe some racks are taller than others and might work; don't know.

so the rack holes are not covered up. would just need rack risers to clear spoiler?

Yup, possibly. I've seen and considered the rack risers but never explored it.

The trunk lid is double shelled, you can run the wire between the shell to a location near the hinges and down to the brake or running lights under the lower trunk shell. The spoiler is mounted approx.,
4 1/2" from the rear of the speaker housing. When you order one, it should come with a templet to drill the holes in the proper location.
