Have had the non-vacuum Pingel gas valve installed for 5 years.  Yesterday I notice I get a drop of gas leaking from the where the stem goes up through the assembly when moving the lever from OFF -to- ON.  Does not continue to leak when in the ON position, only at the mechanical moment of getting it there.  What's up with that?    Undecided   Is there an imminent danger of catastrophic failure (constant drip/leak)?  Does anybody know what the innards of the valve look like, and what is prone to failure.  Are there any owner serviceable parts within the device?  Gasket?  O-ring?  Thoughts?  Thanks, . . .   Undecided

There is a rebuild service available from Pingel.  This is the easiest option. I understand Pingel suggests the need for a special tool to rebuild it yourself. Rebuild kits are available also.

I have the Pingle vacuum valve and mine was leaking too. Called them up they said to send it to them and they rebuilt it for 20.00 plus shipping. It looks like a new valve and for all intents and purposes it is. I haven't put it back on because I have the belly tank that I am going to put on and have gutted the oem valve and put that on the tank just to have a fuel connection. Maybe this weekend I will install the tank and sell the Pingle. Turn around time was about a week to two and like I said as good as new. Smiley

Thanks, guys.  Guess the tank comes off this weekend.
'bout time for a new air filter anyway.
