Finally got up the nerve to change my own rear tire

Only had two problems.  The rear brake caliper stop bolt did not want to come out.  Been having all my work done at the dealer and they put loc-tite on it.  The other problem that I had was doing the work on my back porch.  While I was working on the bike my son was mowing the yard.  After putting on the new Avon Cobra, I started the bike to go for a test ride and had a heck of a time getting through the yard to the front of the house.  That greasy new tire would only spin in the grass no matter how I feathered the throttle.  Finally got out for a ride and so far I like the Avon.  It may be hard to believe but it is quieter than the Dunlop, even with my Cobra exhaust.

I hope you used a torque wrench on the axle and greased your splines. It won't show immediately, but your splines will be sorry if you didn't. I think the correct torque is 85 lb/ft, but check me on it before you set it. That's the main reason I started mounting and dismounting my own wheels, nobody cares about my scooter more than me!

I'm getting tired of babying mine in and out. Luckily it has never been loctited in and does tend to come out fairly neatly, but I do hold my breath every time.
Honda could have made it out of tougher stuff.

My first experience with that thing was a bad one... Now they're in with anti-seize goo... hope
that's good enough... only a monster would loctite them in...
