Had a wonderful day riding the Hill Country today. Made some stops that may be familiar to some of y'all who frequent this site.
After a visit with Liz at Liz's on the Square in Blanco I headed out west to enjoy the roads and maybe find some lunch. Found myself at the Alamo Springs Cafe. Didn't get a picture of my food because by the time it got to my table I was starving! The long wait was worth it because it was
delicious! (Note to self: Don't be in a hurry when you go to Alamo Springs Cafe.)

Fully sated, I headed back towards Luckenbach and saw an opportunity for a "money shot"...

This is the Grape Town School built in 1884 and it served the community until 1949. One teacher - seven grades. Most definitely
Old School!

I had thought about heading over to Albert Hall for a cold, locally brewed draft beer, but for some reason I ended up here...

...and yes...I did
score!

The roads were absolutely beautiful today, but I thought this was beautiful, too...

I stopped by this little church that I have been riding past for some time. It sits on one of my favorite Hill Country roads -- FM 473 between Hwy 281 and RR 32. There really is nothing nearby, so this little place stands out...

Built in 1889 the St. Mary's Help of Christians Catholic Church has served the community of Twin Sisters for 124 years! The stone in the foundation is from a local quarry and the wood was brought in by horse drawn wagons from thirty miles away. In 2013 some guy took an awesome picture of this awesome Valkyrie named Hildr. Now everyone knows of this cool little church...

Great day...good roads, good food, good weather and I soaked up a little Hill Country History! All on what might be the greatest cruiser ever made...the
Honda Valkyrie!
