Well I have tried everything to figure out what is wrong with my turn signals but I am no electrician.

When I turn on my IS, my front signals light up.  When I try the left turn signal it goes out.  When I try the right signal it goes out.  When I release the signal they light up again but the rear signal don't do anything at all.

I checked all the bulbs, I checked the switch and cleaned it, I jumped the black and grey wire at the realy and no luck.

Any ideas?

Have you been playing in the wiring before this happened?

If so, I'd say you knocked a ground connection loose.

If you were in the right side cover, that big black boot, has some GREEN wires in there.    Those are gounds, see if any are loose.

Those bullet connectors they use in ther SUCK.    I've made all of mine spade connectors.

No, I stay clear of wires but thanks for the advice.  I will keep checking the connections especially the green ones.

I had to replace the bulbs on the front run/turn signal on my rescue Valk. When I put in a new bulb on the left, it was much brighter than the right. When I turned on the left signal, the light on the right went out, so I replaced the right, when the right signal was turned on, the left went out. I found that those bulbs must be inserted just right for them to work properly. After much inserting and reinserting, they both burn at the same brighteness and work well.

I notice that the Valk signals are not like a car where it goes in one way.  I have new bulbs in and they are at the same low level brightness when I turn the key on.  I have played with the bulbs for a while now and I am stumped.  Thanks for posting.

Have you tried a new relay, or did your earlier test rule out the relay? Do the back signals work? If so, maybe the fronts share a ground connection further back in the harness. You said you have new bulbs, are they 1157 dual circuit bulbs?

"When I release the signal they light up again but the rear signal don't do anything at all"

Are the rear signal lights working at all?  I had an issue with my standard a while back.  It turned out the rear wiring harness had been damaged.  Because the front and rear lights are wire together throgh the relay, the damaged wiring on the rear effected the functionality of the forward signals.  The rear harness was replaced and that set things right.

You might take a quick look under the rear fender.

Best,

Are you still dealing with this.... if so, does the license plate light work?

I finally have my turn signals working again  Grin, it was a connection that even though it was connected it was not making contact.  I tried everthing that was recommended on the forum but I could not find it so I took it to my mechanic, Mark at Rising Phoenix, and he found it and did not charge me a dime  cooldude.  I gave him a ten to get some pizza for his lunch.  Great guy!
