Impressive. Very industrious. I'm guessing you used an english wheel or power planishing hammer to shape the metal. Could do it the old way with dollies/hammers - body shop hand tools, but would take longer. Curious what your capacity is now. Gotta think it must be 10 gallons or so.

That tank looks real good although I imagine that there was some Bondo used in the process.

I think you should start pool to guess at the final capacity! My guess is 12.5 Based on the fact the the added width is the full depth of the tank. Nice work! GJS

The tank holds 10.5 gallons without filling it to the brim.

The Interstate tank was 450.00, welding 500, bodywork and graphics 1270.00. Not the cheap way to go but I love the way it looks on the bike. I'll post pictures today.

Damn, I want one for MGM. 100 miles to reserve just doesn't cut it currently. Yes, I know it is a Trike now.

I have the same problem with my hack IS. The sidecar rig uses more fuel than a trike. I cannot use the belly tank, because the mounts for the hack go right where the tank goes. So, I am looking for fuel BEFORE 100 miles, if running 70+ on the Interstate. Slower riding is a huge improvement, but still uses a lot of fuel. MP

MP. Could a belly tank or larger similar design be mounted under the hack, or in the mounting arms running between the Valk and Hack? I've only seen a Ural up close with the hack and that owner had more crap than you could imagine squirreled onto/into/around that thing.

I have thought of that. But, have not come up with anything that still looks good, at least on a Valk. Who cares on a Ural! LOL I kind of like the tanks that one can mount on the rack on the trunk. Then, can feed by gravity. But, I like using the trunk for my billfold, glasses, and such. And, with a full 3 gallon tank of fuel on the trunk, don't think I can then fold it forward. Don't think the rear seat would allow it. Have thought of the trunk on the hack, and use a lift pump. But, with two of us going on 10 day trips, I hate losing the space. MP

Not sure how the hack goes together/mounts, but my first thought was a small pancake type tank underneath with a lift pump. Just throwing things at the wall to see if anything will stick for ya.

It's been 5 years and 50k miles with no problem. With the belly tank it holds 8.3 gal. and that is just about perfect. rmworksinc.comThis is built like a tank and worth every cent. BW
