Hi all,

I'm going to my first Inzane this year!  I'll be trailering my bike (i know, i know) to my cousins place in Charlotte, MI staying a day or two then driving up to take the Badger in Muskegon on the 14th.  Just curious if anyone else was planning on that crossing?  Assuming the EPA lets them run that is.

The Rogue Riders are planing on taking the northern route across the UP.  Heading up on the 13th, overnight in Escanaba, then arrive at GZ on the 14th.  You're welcome to join us.

I think you are talking about the Lake Express ferry out of Muskegon. The Badger runs out of Ludington. Iv'e taken the bike on both, prefer the Lake Express.

You're right.  I mixed up the cities.  I had considered them both but heard the Lake Express can be a rough ride, although shorter. If the Badger doesn't get EPA clearance then the Lake Express is the only way except around and don't think I'm up to those rides!

I've never taken either boat across the lake but have taken the UP north around the lake and is worth the time to enjoy the scenery.  From Michigan the route north is much easier and prettier and a lot less congested than going south around the lake into WI.  Nice easy roads (except for road construction I remember on one short part) and very nice views well worth the trip and isn't too bad to do and will save you some dough as well just for gas vs. the lake ferry charge.  Worth considering?
