I'm a big fan of my Falken Ziex 512 darkside rear tire.  (I'm also a big fan of Discount Tire Direct and the big brown truck.)  When it picked up a nail or screw in December with less than 9K miles on it, I was tweaked.  Pocket Plugger to the rescue!  ...except for the fact that it still leaked about a pound per day...

Yesterday, I took the loose wheel/tire minus rotor to my local Discount Tire to ask if they could demount the tire and patch if from the inside while trying not to lose the Dyna Beads and being careful about the in-tire TPMS sensor.  They said it would take about an hour and that they'd call my cell when it was done .  Perfect, as it was time for lunch.

When I went back to pick it up, they told me they had snipped my plug, and scuffed and patched it AND found another nail protruding into the tire that was not visible from the outside.  (Could this have been the source of the ongoing leak???)

Other than knowing the leak(s) are patched properly, the best part of the whole experience was that IT WAS FREE!   cooldude

I have bought my  car & truck tires from Discount for many years now, always good service, and they're the only ones I'll deal with.

Last time I went there, they told me that they don't do motorcycle rims and car tires, and it was a national (corporate) mandate.  Has that changed?

I can't speak to that.  If your guy told you the truth, it either changed or my guy didn't know/care about that policy.  All I can say is my guy never batted an eye when I told him I had a car tire on a motorcycle rim.

Interesting.  I guess I have to find the right guy, then.  Or, keep going to the local shop, where he got very confused, and wanted to make sure I knew it was a motorcycle rim (Did I bring in the wrong wheel by mistake?), but didn't object to doing it.

Same story I was given when I purchased my Falken at Discount; I took it to Firestone in Allen and they mounted it no questions asked.
